Is that your way of saying you are quite familiar with protein structures? :o I probably don't know as much about them as you do, granted the allusions to things I have only come across a few times (had to google 'em) but it is a fascinating subject. :D

OOH I researched mad cow disease for a school project last year! But the research was very rudimentary, so I don't know how prions work specifically, i.e. how exactly they cause other proteins to change shape and cause diseases.

You should watch this documentary if you haven't already: [Link To Video] :nerdy: Doesn't go into detail on the science involved, but I got curious about the subject after the first time I watched it.

The one great thing about being a thread killer is that you can delete your posts a few days later if you want to.
I've been doing that lately. :alien:

Same here. I get irascible when I find I can't delete a post that I'd like to delete, so I just edit it into oblivion instead.

Me too. The worst is when someone else quotes before I get a chance to edit.
Nice to know we're not alone....so many thread killers here. :D

I've had that happen before, but mostly it's the posts nobody replies to that really bug me. :? What happened to your avatar, by the way? I just noticed it's missing.

I have moments of extreme self doubt and embarrassment. Sometimes I wish I could erase my profile and start all over here.... somehow I feel smaller and less visible without an avatar.
: )

I'll find a new skin soon. 8)

Was today your birthday? Or tomorrow? (I mean March 1st)
If yes, Happy Birthday kestrel :D

You shouldn't feel that way - I always enjoy reading your posts. I liked the old avatar, too. I have the same problem though, so I should probably listen to my own advice.

I still have all of my old avatars....I'm starting a collection *L*

I like all of your avatars too... the curled vine and these painting ones, they're very intricate and soothing colors.

Shhhh... don't tell anyone. :P Thanks - it's been a weird birthday. It was yesterday. My mom sent me a fossilized trilobite she found in Arizona. She always gets the best gifts (no sarcasm). She also found me a fossilized dino-dropping for Christmas.

I have a weird family.

And about my last avatar; thanks: I just thought it had too much contrast-- I stupidly forgot to save the psd, so I couldn't fix it without ruining it or remaking it from scratch.

A fossilized trilobite is an awesome gift.... I wish my family was that weird

It still has dirt all over it. 8O I showed my sister and she said, "Eew, mom's weird. Why'd she send you a dirty insect?" I said, "Trilobites are not insects! They're arthropods."

My mom's really the only interesting one of the bunch.
