This is a really soothing chat!
I've had various pet animals since I was three, including turtles, fish, rabbits, mouse, ducks, dogs, horses, cat, pigeons, and finally Greater Vasa parrots. I greatly prefer associating with non-humans than humans. Now that I've retired early from antitrust law and my kids have left the nest, I live with two Greater Vasas, nine horses and one annoying Great Pyrenees. I do not understand how that can be called "living alone."
I'm envious of people from Great Britain because you have lots of pet Vasas; there are very few in the U.S., and I want more.
If I'm too depressed to get up or go to sleep on time, my Vasas take things into their own beaks. They either complain until I do what they want, or, if I ignore them too long, fly over and bite me. If that doesn't work, they poop on whatever bare skin they see. I assure you, that last gets me out of bed even in my most energy-less states.
