Today is my birthday, but it’s no different from any other day.

Being reminded that after a certain age, all birthdays become just dates on a calendar.

(Not your fault, Twilight. It's something I've known for decades. Happy Birthday, though!)

Thanks!

I’ve never had a birthday celebration, though. It’s always just been another day on a calendar. Someday I want a birthday cake with candles.

Can you go out (or stay in) and do something you'd really like to do? Sometimes it takes a lot of thought to determine what you might enjoy. My birthday is tomorrow and I scheduled private horseback riding because it will remind me of my grandfather who died on that date. It's good memories for me though, not sad. Think of your favourite things and see if you can incorporate them into your day in whatever way possible. Make your own cake if you want one. I've done that before as well. It's fun and it will give you something to do.

Happy birthday.

I was planning on going out to eat with my little boy today, but now my brother and nephew are coming over, so I’ll be making dinner. They don’t celebrate birthdays. I can’t make a decent cake, either, because my nephew is gluten free and gluten free cake is not good.

I also need to clean.

I’ll guess I’ll go out with my son tomorrow.

I'd make a small cake just for myself, with extra gluten.

Mum said this is 'interesting' so I guess this is just another case of an aspie being overly empathetical but...

I went to a talk at a museum today and they were talking about houses that got bombed in the war and one of them was the house next door to the house I lived in as a kid. They showed the rubble and everything.

I mean I objectively knew it. But it's another thing seeing it and hearing about the baby who lived there and how the people became homeless and injured.

I have no loyalty to these people except... they were from number 85 and I was from number 83. Number 85 didn't exist when I was growing up, it was 83 then 91. For some reason it struck me more than old stuff about war usually does.

My supervisor made me leave work early today (on my first day) because I "didn't click" with the guys who were training me. He said some nonsense about wanting to create a positive environment for everyone and claimed he'd call with a "game plan" before I come back to work on Monday. I knew he was lying about my not being blamed/at fault/in trouble, but I couldn't figure out how to explain to him that I didn't *know* I was doing anything wrong. I thought it was going really well.

A coworker tried to start wet mopping when I was dry mopping. The music was blaring in the background and I was trying to block it out as I was finishing off my first task. The job placement specialist was trying to use her corny sense of humour and she was making fun of me as I was finishing off the kitchen. It pissed me off how she didn't wait for me to finish the kitchen before she start popping popcorn for the school lunches. I kept it to myself, though.

I feel the same way. i don't like all the focus being on me for a whole day.

I didn't like birthdays for a long time, because I just seemed to get farther behind each year. Nothing changed in my life except that I was a year older and no more accomplished or independent. That has changed in the last six years, however. I am still well behind the normal achievement curve, but am improving all the time.

I hope your friends are OK.

What made me unhappy is that I have a headache. I have a screwed up sleep schedule lately & woke up with the headache last night. I was up for a few hours & ate & watched some TV before I went back to bed. I skipped lunch yesterday & that meal I ate last night was sorta like my supper I guess. I ate alittle more than I would of normally eaten for supper & I occasionally skip lunch other times. I'm not sure if I got the headache from my screwed up sleep or going too long without eating or a combo or something else. I still have it alittle when I recently woke up. I might of slept alittle more but had to pee & wasn't sure I could fall asleep after that so I decided to just stay up. I'll be eating breakfast in abit so maybe that'll help. I may take a med if it doesn't.
