There are three types of music that I like.

The Kinks
The 80s
The 60s

I'm such a Mod.

I love 70's and 80's music. My dad absolutely loves all kinds of music from then, and I listened to it a ton when I was little.

I dunno what its like now really. I think for those of us who grew up and were coming of age before the internet really took off properly we experianced those narrow paths of music exposure. I don't think those days were really very good to be honest. My life was so enriched when I found an outlet for discovering music. Suddenly I could find what I REALLY liked as oppossed to what my friends liked and exposed me to. And whatever bands happened to play in my home town at the time. Unless I bunked on the train down to London and told me parents I was staying over a friends house, but i didn't have the £££ to get away with that too often :chin:

i think now there is potential, people can find almost anything.. but now 1 cool guy/gal finds the darkest/sexiest/easiest to listen to band etc and people follow..
what annoys me is people who have no idea why they like whatever they like. can anyone really explain the musical depth of rihanna or some other pop thing, without lying..?

Not at all rude, seeing as it's the truth.

I've always had a deep desire to share things, I never quite seem to fulfill it.

It's definitely great having access to all this cool junk though.

Leave the young adolescent alone. It's the best time in your life to be an arrogant gobshite you can get away with it then and people find it "cute" in your early 20's you can look back and come to the realisation you were a complete tosser back then.

It's when your in your late 20's and an arrogant gobshite people think there must be something wrong with you 8)

No, I wasn't. I was saying that I think JM is being a bit hard on her not quite as 'up to speed' peers.
