I've been leaning on it *autocorrect bar* too much myself. Damn shame I couldn't get the software I want out of the last Blackberries. I often find myself too double jointed to even click things, much less keys so I just break out the new touch laptop.

You do fine bud, am always using the spell check which makes it a little more annoying as it is set to English US at the moment that uses ""Alternative"" English, lol

Some things are better quick.
I find it frustrating, honestly.
You don't know how many times I cancel posts because by the time I get the thought down, then correct it, things have moved on.

I do that a lot myself. I draw too many lines between things I presume someone wants to discuss with me & those they don't. I can interpret functional code from any number of languages day & night but TEXTING? Forget it

I used to use the talk to text sometimes.
Now I have dyspraxia.
Did you know I couldn't speak until 10 days after my operation?
Then I could only echo, or supply the last word to a phrase.
I had intensive speech therapy.
When I speak, I often need a prompter.
I know what I want to say in my mind, but often can't say it, or say something completely different to what I'm thinking.
It's quite bizarre.
I'm lucky I can still do one finger typing.
Yeah.

I am very lucky, actually.
I'm grateful for the abilities I've retained/relearned.

My numb extremities can go away whenever they like. :x

Meh.
Think they might be here to stay.

I've rarely if ever had a conventional approach to typing/keyboards. Piano lessons highlighted that for a while & then after quite some time spent working on tech I realized it's actually extremely rare to find something with a really good keyboard. You might like T9 a la old flip phones if you find your adaptations become passive habits. Microsoft's word flow keyboard on iOS also has a 1 handed mode that centers on the corners under your thumbs.#

I've borked a fairly substantial number of my nerves in all sorts of places & found them more resilient than I thought. For most of January my right pinky finger was superficially absent. It's 70% back now, herb helps :P

If I could use a keyboard that shows the predictive text where you're typing, instead of in a separate box at the top that would be good, because I can't seem to focus on both at once.

Like the popups on the letters or the cursor where the copy/paste went?

edit: Yeah, M$ Word Flow (don't worry it's free) has the prediction hints in the bottom half of the screen, at least in the one-handed mode, which it lets you into after swiping all across the keyboard left or right.

My nerves were damaged from chemotherapy.
Herb has made no difference.
Painkillers make it much worse.
The TENS machine I borrowed does help a little.
They're not only numb, but sting at the same time. :?
How that happens, I don't know.
It's like they feel hollow.

At a guess you're forming a mostly-new relationship with all those nerves after that shock so I think it makes sense you're experiencing a perceptual distance from what you physically feel, though from what I remember of neurological anatomy the interactions of such nerves are overstimulated & under-dampened - meaning stimulation more easily leads to inflammatory responses. To the best of my knowledge the myelin or nervous sheaths need significant nutritional support that differs relative to the stressors.

I finally have a legit reason why Rachel's sisters hate her, other than "just because." 8)
