Newer movies are always better just because they have more advanced graphics.

bring back the hays office, but have its only job keeping meanness out of the movies-already enough of that in real life, no need for it in reel life.

I kind of hate songs that talk about real life issues. I listen to music to escape from reality. I like songs about magical creatures killing each other in epic battles.

there needs to be a law, that every house and apartment comes with an electronic home organ of some kind. this country would be a better place if only more people played the organ. :) Image

RPM was by far the best season of Power Rangers.

Or perhaps we could go one step further and have Christian fundamentalists run the MPAA? No sex, violence, or anything worth watching in film from thereon in.

If the Hays Office was brought back, people would simply go NR instead.

Although G4 of My Little Pony is awesome, G3 is more emotionally touching.

no, that's too far, just keep meanness out of movies, or at least certificate [rate] them as a big M for MEAN so meanophobes can more easily avoid them. at least with the M rating you could watch all the mean movies you want.

But there are different levels of meanness. Most films that aren't 'G'/'U'-rated have at least some meanness in them.

the M rating would not prohibit attendance, it is strictly cautionary in a similar manner to PG13 in the states.

Dear AuntBlabby, I have gone to some VERY violent, PG-13 and R-rated films, to which parents brought very young children.

Personally, I think that some films should not be seen by kids.

that is a hole in our 45 year old rating system that should've been plugged early on. but there is tradition to maintain, IOW they are not going to do away with the parental accompaniment requirement for restricted movies. but if they were smart they'd add it to some pg13 movies now. flat age-related bans with no provision for parental accompaniment would not fly here because the almighty buck is first and foremost everything and the rest is strictly secondary.

[rant]

I am really sick and tired of the "more autistic than thou" attitude that a lot of people on the spectrum exhibit, on both this website and on others. "oh, so and so can't possibly have AS because they don't act exactly like a textbook case! They're either lying or their diagnosis is wrong!" Um, excuse me, but there is a saying: "When you meet one autistic person, you meet one autistic person." No two people's symptoms will be exactly alike, and it's not anyone's place to judge whether or not someone is "autistic enough" to be considered part of the community. Autism isn't some exclusive club where only the "next step in evolution" (as some refer to it) are welcome. It's a condition where people feel isolated and ostracized from the rest of the world, and when one of us reaches out to the community, the last thing they need is to be turned away by the only group of people who can understand them. As an entire group of people who have felt mistreated and neglected by society, we should be sticking together instead of acting like we belong to a clique where only the "cool kids" are allowed in.
