When I'm talking to my mum on the phone tomorrow, I'm going to ask if I can spend the night at her place on Wednesday night - Halloween. Dean will be spending that night with his dad. The little ignorant bastards can blast their precious firecrackers outside my window all they want. I might not be home.

Why didn't I kill myself back when I was 17? I wish I had known I would never be able to prove my older brother wrong and life was going to continue to be bad.

I'm thinking of what a wonderful gift life is and that nobody should take their own life. I live each day like it's my last.

Not all "gifts" are good.

For example, a gift of a dog, for someone afraid of dogs, (like myself) is bad.

"Nobody should" . Zero. If there is one exception, the whole statement is wrong

Euthanasia, mental illness, poverty, medical research, military, suicide bomber

The solar system contains a lot of extreme situations

"Should" "can" and "will" are all different things

If you live each day like your last, you do not plan (sufficiently) for the future.

If I lived every day like my last, I would eat badly, waste $$, & do bad and wrong things.

But maybe that's not what you were referring to

I would like very much to have something akin to your psychic clairvoyant powers.

It was so odd, Blabbs! When I called the fire service and gave my name the dispatcher knew who I was straight away. "Oh heavens! I knew your father!" I just about keeled over because I was so shocked and speechless. When the men arrived they all stood around talking about my dad and laughing and recalling good times. Then, they said "the story" from my lucid dream. I'm still tilting my head to the side, like "huhhhhh???" How could this be? (Picture the expression from your avatar, on MY face ... that's where I'm at). 8)

it reminds me of something from Shakespeare, commonly said to doubting Thomas-types the world over- "there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy." when I was younger by far, I had a similar experience.

That's a really pretty quote, Blabbs. Thanks for that! I do seem to have some involuntary 'clairvoyancy' abilities but the frustrating thing is that I can't harness them or force them. I could never make a psychic type of prediction on command or pick winning numbers or whatnot. Images and scenes just come to me, and then repeat later. I'd love to hear your experience some time, too!

I couldn't either but for one time when I correctly predicted a political outcome in the '92 presidential race here. but your experience is common among psychics, the stuff just comes to them unbidden, no commanding it. rather like happiness. :flower: my aforementioned referenced experience was me sitting in the army barracks room listening to music, when all of a sudden a LOUD thought overrode the music as though somebody hit the mute button, the thought was "AH DAMMIT I FORGOT MY KEYS!" - and as I was puzzling over why the hell I thought that thought, a few moments later I heard a rap on the door from one of my barracks-mates, and him yelling through the door, "lemme in, I forgot my keys!"

I love your description "...rather like happiness". That's perfect! Your experience is fascinating! That almost sounds like the hypnagogia I experience when falling asleep / waking. I hear predictive text then. Actually, that's kind of what happened today. The 'story' that I heard about my father while in bed was more like hypnagogia than a lucid dream since there was no visual component. Oddly enough though, my dreams seldom have visuals. They're usually a soundtrack. I can't wait to find out how this all works someday from heaven. I'm sure we'll get all the answers then.

two books I could recommend for more insights into dreaming- "multidimensional man" and "vistas of infinity" by Jurgen Ziewe.
