Happiness is not a logical, rational thing.
It's a feeling.
There is no logic to feelings.
At least, not for me.
What 'should' make me happy doesn't.

I went for a walk in the dark. It's almost full moon. I listened to the birds down at the beach. It was windy and my ears are cold. It was nice.

I used to think along similar lines, though almost in reverse; I tried so hard to make my mum proud of me and win her approval. Even now, I still catch myself not doing things because of the flimsy justification 'Mum won't like it'.

^I have found a way around it. Whenever I start to call myself names, I imagine myself as a young child, crying, and imagine holding that child-me in my arms, giving myself love. :heart:
