Annette originally sang this song for a 1964 teen movie called "Pajama Party" - this version of the song is from the movie's official soundtrack LP, but I remember seeing the actual movie clip where she sings it, and liking that version better....in the actual movie, she gives the song more of a lullaby quality.

I think Annette really loved her stuffed animals irl, too - I've seen several vintage photos of her playing with them on her bed as a teenager. She had a nice collection of French poodle plushies.
