Wondering what the hell is going on in London. I mean, I've heard and read the facts. What I wonder is what possesses people to do this. Times like these I'm glad I don't connect with crowds. London is the new L.A.

And hoping any Londoners here are safe.

I'm not all that familiar with the L.A. riots; I know they lasted nearly a week and were caused by a brutal police beating... and that they were horrible... but I don't know how much of L.A. was destroyed. With the ones in the UK, it's several places in a (albeit very small) country.

I sure hope it doesn't get that bad. A lot of people died in the L.A. riots, and a lot more were injured, some pretty badly. They were dragging random people out of cars and brutally beating them. I don't know the extent of the property damage, but I think a lot of it was even in poorer neighborhoods, which I don't get at all. How is mindless violence against innocent people supposed to make things better? I hate people.

Ah, apparently 53 people died and the damage was around $1 billion.
