was referring to my own car back in the day. you should not have to hold the steering wheel any special way to avoid the phenomenon described. granted there are a few other things that can cause a car to veer on hard braking but a bent frame certainly will cause this to a marked degree, that is what I found out after I bought a car for a too-good-to-be-true price back in 1989 [i'm old :bigsmurf: ] and fixed the other things but the car still veered.

i see. i bought my toyota, a rather basic 1990 model, for $1600 back in september and so far i have spent about that same amount in necessary repairs/long overdue general maintenance. i think that might be all for quite a while, it makes little sense to dump more money on it right now. the veering happens when coasting regularly on a plane as well, but i correct it almost unconsciously at this point by resting my hand on the wheel (lots of play).

if i do drop more money on it, it may be for aesthetic reasons such as window tinting, and then some new tires down the road (heh). have seen these cars go up to 300,000 miles and beyond.

but besides that, i have spent very little recently. paid for bus fare with quarters...who does that anymore???
