I chose the boat poem.

I'm not sure if it's any good.

I need a better form for it.

It makes everyone look bad.

It's about the sorts of choices you sometimes make when bored and lonely...

It's honest though and if people look bad in specific ways, that's cos that's what it was.

I might write it out in prose form then translate it into a poem.

I need more focus on the boat and on the waves but if the waves are too choppy then realistically the boat would be too.

The boat is a mix between what the boat was and what that pub in Tenerife was.

I'm never going to go back to that pub and if I did it would feel completely different but I really liked it there at the time. It's a decent place. I swear they polish their furniture every day, let alone cleaning. 45 or so (not sure how many, I went in 2000) plaques up on the wall, nice carpet. Classy place.

I have never been in anywhere like that since.

One place which is not like that is the pub in my home town. Racist pictures on the wall (seriously racist, black man as monkey). Someone who genuinely wanted to go there wrote on trip advisor 'be sure you wipe your feet on the way out'...

So it's specific to that one pub. Maybe because it was just for tourists and it was sunny and it was near a golf course.
