I had my day all planned out (mostly alone & completely at home) and someone came up & requested that I do something (involving a busy place). I eventually explained to them why I got so upset and didn't have to go to that place but they did set my schedule off my doing the favor for them. I'm all right now though (cuz I'm drinking).

Haha Yep Uncle, still sounds weird to say! It's gonna be a girl :). So it'll be full contact rugby for her when she's old enough!

Yellow light of death? You're pretty much screwed. The YLOD is caused by the expansion of the motherboard due to heat. The soldering eventually cracks, and causes a failure in the circuits. Reapplying solder is only a temporary solution; it will eventually crack again.

Just thinking about this has been the worst part of my day so far. Today was actually going quite well, up until now. At least I have one of the 65nm fat PS3's; they don't get anywhere near as hot as the older ones. It's possible to fry a burger on one of those things. They really are George Foreman grills.

I was playing Tools of Destruction and my sister "tripped" while holding a glass of water. I might just have to dry out the motherboard and the vents.

I am so pissed :|

If it was running when this happened, I don't think drying it out will fix it, as it probably destroyed itself when it short circuited. But it really depends on how far deep the water went in. If it just ran into the heatsink, it should be fine.

Did you take it apart and look inside? As long as it was unplugged before water reached the motherboard, I'm thinking it's fine.

Yeah. I did both. I also looked at a video of someone taking apart their PS3, just for reference. I pretty much yanked it out of the wall too.

I'm testing it out right now... So far so good.
