oh well i am not interested in mainstream things so i know my contributions will be boring to most.

but this video is my favorite thing to watch for now.
the plane must be heavily anchored for the engine spool test. the chocks in front of the rear wheels would not be enough to stop the plane proceeding, so there must be some other type of restraint.

from 0-1:55 it is take off thrust, and it is maintained until 1:53 where thrust is reduced (beautiful sound).

then it is kicked back up to take off thrust at 2:13 and then at 2:22, it is throttled far beyond take off thrust for a few seconds.
the wings seemed to flex with the stress at the end (which is why the photograper probably panned to the wing, but the effect was lost because the camera was not steady)
i love spinning things too, but i can not see the spin accurately because it is not a good camera. in fact i would have to see it in person as no camera would be good enough to capture it for me. if i was there i could watch it without interruption for hours.

welll here is another one i found recently that i very much like.

it is a russian aircraft that barely manages to take off.

apart from the obvious visual aspect, i like very much like to hear what the air traffic controllers say.
(it is obviously in australia i can easily tell)

just one more for tonight.

usually when passenger aircraft do "flyby's" they do not go very fast. they generally do about 40 knots faster than stall speed.
it is boring because they seem to be travelling at a similar speed to the speed i have watched them take off on many occasions.

but this is different. this is a boeing 757 that belongs to the NZ air force, and this pilot applies heavy throttle and it sounds brilliant to my mind.
the plane is going by at about 600 kph which is much faster than civilian air shows where they fly at boring speeds.

Hiya my contribution is my son!! No I am not feeding him to the lions....I hope

I am incredibly proud of him, he is 14yrs old and diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. We have worked very hard with Jelibean interventions to get him to this level. Not only has he discovered he is a music savant....rock guitar, but in less than a year he has been discovered by 'Marshall Amps' and a Senior Minister in the UK Goverment. He wants a Rock School here in the UK, he says that if he played a classical instrument he would get a scholarship to a Music school BUT there is NOTHING for Rock!??

Through communicating with the Minister for Education he has become very interested in politics. He makes some very sensible and valid points .........but then I am biased.....I am his mum I am going to link this post into the BNP thread on the news forum.......it seems very relevant right now!
