#3 is Kortie's lie.

LOL.....you might remember that the poster was located in McCrory's (on the same side of the Boulevard on 63rd Drive).

:( Again, I hope it was all OK. I hate having half-present memories.

Here are some of my half-memories:

1. I'm terrified of one storey motels / inns and have been since I was seven years old.

2. I'm terrified of butter knives. I think I know why, but the reason seems odd.

3. I'm afraid of green beans, and my memory on this one is more clear than for # 1 or 2.

You're right, Kortie. 3 is my lie although I do have flashbacks when I see green beans. The difference is that I'm not afraid of them, they just stress me out and make me angry.

1. I used to buy and collect Wacky Packages at a place called "Phil's Hot Corner."

2. I played the pinball machine at a candy store named "Mike's."

3. Angelo was my barber. He always talked good about my dad.

2 is wrong. The store had another name.

You're right.....but the proprietor of the place happened to be named Mike. He was a Polish guy. I forgot the name of the candy store. We just called it "the candy store" LOL

Believe it or not, I've played a video game before!

1. When Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man were first invented, I played them on a big arcade machine in a flower shop near my house. I don't know why the flower shop had these games but kids waited an hour at a time to have their turn. It was very popular. I don't think anyone ever bought flowers.

2. My brother and my cousin (together) had something called Atari. It was brown with a stick shift thing. They taught me how to play Centipede and Asteroids. I remember the sound and the frustration of getting exploded by the asteroids. I don't remember how Centipede worked, though.

3. I often played a car race game (cars in the desert?), with my nephew on Play Station when he was little. I felt like a very cool aunt for playing with him, even though I thought the game was quite annoying. I think I may have bought the Play Station for him for Christmas, but I'm not sure.

#1. I can't see you waiting to play video games with a bunch of other noisy kids. Kids who flocked to arcades were sometimes not the nicest of kids....

3 is indeed my lie. I couldn't think of anything believable so I went with that. Mind is still goop. I wasn't flat out denied the ID, it's just that Homeland Security doesn't communicate with DPS in a timely manner, so I just need to wait a bit.

1. I was banned from going to the schoolyard of the elementary school.....until I went to that elementary school in 6th grade.

2. My 6th grade teacher really liked me; she knew I would "make something of myself."

3. We went to the Museum of Natural History in 6th grade. This was where I became aware of Louis Leakey, Olduvai Gorge, and Handy Man (Homo Habilis). This was the event that stoked my special interest in paleoanthropology.

Nope, you're wrong! I did play Pac Man in a flower shop. At age 13 I did what all the other kids did, and I didn't have the introspection to realize I didn't like what I was doing. I didn't get lonely and isolated until age 14, when I stopped following others.

2 is true (Atari)

3 is my lie. My nephew had all sorts of games and systems but my brother played them with him. I just watched and laughed and whatnot.

2, sadly. I hope 3 was your magic moment.

My 6th grade teacher told me I'd be lucky if I made it out of junior high if I continued to behave the way I was behaving.

Yep.....that trip to the museum was magical. Louis Leakey was my idol LOL

You should talk about him more. Heaven knows I talk too much about Emily.

1. I had a good friend when I was ten, but she stopped speaking to me because I was becoming too reclusive. I always found a way to avoid her invitations because I was starting to feel social phobia.

2. I had a good friend in Kindergarten, but I stopped speaking to her when she said that the word "baby" was spelled "babies" as a plural. I thought it was "babys", and I was indignant about her "ies" rule. I slammed a door and left her house.

3. I had a (fairly) good friend when I was about eight years old, but she got tired of my obsession with Elton John and stopped coming by to play with me. She made fun of me at school even though she was younger than I was.

#3. I'm thinking there was some other reason why the girl acted this way.
