rainy with bursts of hard rain. winds from the southwest @ 5-10 mph with cold wet gusts exceeding that. 50F, gramp, 83% humidity, 29.4 barometer. feels like spring alright, a typical northwest early spring.

I want to ask if you're kidding, but I kind of think you mean what you say. In Texas, spring rarely came, and then briefly. There and in California, it was a mild version of Summer. I gather that here in the NW, it's more a mild winter. Is that close?

It rained all day. Huge wins storm last night knocked out power for several hours. Cold, but with occasional sunshine.

our winter didn't have much snow but it definitely was colder and wetter and windier than normal. I am thankful we didn't get that much snow. but when I was stationed in the army at ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, [after a brutal winter] I noted one good month in the early spring, starting in mid-march, right around the cusp of spring. towards the 2nd half of April it started getting hot enough to need a/c.

That sounds about right for Texas. Some years you go from heat at night to a/c during the day in Spring.

I was in open-bay barracks then, I remember it went from ice cold, to just rainy and muddy, then a brief period of sunny and mild, then HOT.
