I wonder if one day I'll meet someone I'll enter into a relationship with, while we're both young enough for *ahem* "certain activities".
Don't really see that happening, but one can dream.
this just in: old people have sex. we may have to get creative about it, though.
Hmm... I misworded that. I'm well-aware sex is still possible at an older age, I'd just hoped I'd have done my shopping at a younger age and grow old together rather than still be shopping at an old age.
got married for the first time at 52 to a 58 y. o. - his first marriage, too. i'd dated a lot. he dated whenever women asked him out. i was engaged to someone who physically and sexually abused me in my late 20's. i am happy i waited for a really equal, loving relationship to a sweet guy. maybe i'm a slow learner but, at our wedding, i toasted, "to finding love whenever." it has been a wonderful ten years. we probably won't have ten more because he has leukemia. we are cherishing every moment. i was never unhappy as a single person (except the year i grieved and raged over the bad engagement). i think being a happy person, getting to know myself - got knocked down more than once and got up again with help (professional, self-help groups, books, family), working on my social skills (which have improved further with my husband's good example), being reasonably fit, and knowing what i was looking for all helped.
