They did not say they personally don't find her attractive. It was tactless. It was like the difference between what Aspie_for_the_Lord said about me and what Tequila said about me. Waterdogs made a rude blunt statement. I take it you aren't one of the aspies that was bullied in school? (Oh, someone is something I do not like... lets say mean things to hurt them!)

Anyone that condones someone critisizing someones looks in public is pathetic.

It should Not Matter whether someone wants attention of not. It was rude and nasty.

There's plenty going on in my life. But that does not mean I should not stick up for a member that did not deserve that sort of treatment.

So if I liked you that would mean I have lots going on in my life? Poor logic.

To be fair to ole' Waterdogs, SpaceCase makes plenty of "look at me I'm wonderful" posts which are just as unreasonable in the overall scheme of things. If she's allowed to go around attention seeking the whole time then it's about time someone admitted that they personally don't find her attractive, cos it puts a bit of perspective back. just to clarify... i didnt say Hale_bopp wasnt attractive... just not my type :D.

i think she is quite attractive with nice eyes... and i like eyes, but i go for other kind of looks.

Yeah, I know this. But maybe Waterdogs has some issues too? By jumping on his back rather than just shrugging it off you could be making things much, much worse. It certainly doesn't seem to have done any good - he's just angry and confused now. It's laughable that you think criticising SpaceCase's looks in public is pathetic but you're quite prepared to destroy Richard's character in public and somehow that is ok?

I honestly believe that Waterdogs often just posts the first thing that comes into his head, and doesn't always understand what the reaction will be. This is a symptom of AS, as is responding badly to criticism. I don't think he should have been so rude but I do think he has a right to his opinion. Not everyone will like everyone else. At least he is honest enough to admit this, whereas most people are far too polite (and consequently, liars). SpaceCase's image seems to be in the public domain here on WP quite a bit. If you put your head above the parapet for long enough, someone may shoot at it. Unless you can stand back and take a bit of criticism (albeit rather nastily worded) with good humour, you're setting yourself up for a big fall.

Read it again, Bizarre. I have no particular problem with SpaceCase in terms of either personality or looks. But if someone craves attention then inevitably not all of it will be good attention - she's been setting herself up for a fall. The amount of flak which Waterdogs has received just for speaking his mind - in the truly unsubtle way which Aspies sometimes sadly do - is shameful for an AS site. It's funny how the level of sympathy given to someone with problems seems to be gender related, don't you think?

I don't agree with the tone of the original comment but it's presumptuous to assume that it was definitely MEANT to cause offence. Perhaps the wording was a mistake? However you won't see an explanation or apology now because you've all attacked him. Furthermore, given the number of people who seem dedicated to kissing SpaceCase's arse here on WP, I find his opinion quite refreshing. Going against the grain is classic Aspie thinking, too.

I don't dislike SpaceCase in any way, and nor would I claim to be totally devoid of attention-seeking attributes myself. But I can normally step back and laugh at preposterous comments (well, unless they're from Emp...). Sometimes it's the best way of regaining perspective.
