I just came from the office to process clearance, and everything was about to go smoothly, until some IT guy refused to sign their part in the paper, and really was rude at me. Obviously, I wasn't talking to him, but he butted in and raised his voice. I, in turn, raised my voice as well, and argued with him. I had asked for assistance from my former supervisor, but she had no success at that point as well. So there. I have to return back there, and spend more money that I don't even have in the first place.

OSB, Hugs! That sucks when people are flat-out jerks.

It may be a break-up song....but it basically has an idea that is universally applicable to every jerk in the universe:

Hope it helps a little bit. :)

Dear One Step, I'm sorry someone hurt your feelings..maybe what was said was just thoughtless, not deliberately intended to insult you. If you are sure it was deliberate, I don't blame you for using the'C'word....that would be 'crustacean', right? Sylkat

I hate being yelled at. Why do I have to be so sensitive?

Especially for those of us who happen to have hyperacusis combined with an aversion to social interactions in general.

I hate that too. I shut down completely. It seems to me that other people handle it much better than me.

Yes, it hurts my ears... but it makes me cry as well, and I can't hold it back. I feel like sucha wuss!

In many ways, I dislike my inability to fully understand and express social emotions. Generally, the best I can do is an emulation and the only way to get the tears running is to yawn with my mouth closed at least twice. Perhaps, you are fortunate to have the ability to express sadness genuinely. I am still working on getting my eyes to squint slightly when smiling.

blergh, my ex hated being yelled at or being in places with loud noises...for some reason I have no issue with that. I mean, I hate being yelled at...but I usually end up trying to out-yell them
