I nearly had a meltdown because I couldn't find my chickpeas.

I'm sure you've all had that experience.

I must admit I have done that before. I have two people in my family who have a real phobia about spiders.

Another friend died from covid.  This one was very athletic.  He competed in local "ironman" triathlons and regularly bicycled 50+ miles per week.  No pre-existing conditions.  No smoking.  No drinking.  Keto/Mediterranean diet.  He leaves a wife and a 6-month old kid behind, both of whom are now under quarantine.

The really sad part is that this could have been prevented.  He refused the vaccine, even after his wife (a nurse) got it, claiming that he was "too healthy to get sick", that Fauci's medical license was fake, and that only Socialists wore masks.

I used to admire him.  Now I find out he was a fool.

It's my fault again. Because it's always my fault. So why not hang up on me?

Yet ANOTHER friend has passed away.  This time, it was a non-covid cardiomyopathy.

He was a lawyer who successfully defended an Egyptian government official against corruption charges in Cairo, and then fled with his family to America to escape persecution and make a better life.

He leaves behind a wife and three sons.

He was a good man.

Yesterday I got my covid shot. Turns out my body doesn't like that.
Throughout the rest of the day I nearly fainted thrice, today I've been slightly dizzy and feverish and have a nasty aching shoulder.
Of course it could be worse. When I went to get my shot and had to lie down a bit, there was one bloke there in a really bad way. Lying in a fetal position, occasionally making retching noises and the volunteers were fumbling trying to figure out how to get im on the stretcher because he screamed when they tried to lift him. Hope he's okay.

At least I'm on my way to becoming properly protected, although I've heard the side-effects of the second shot are usually much, much worse. And that doesn't make me very glad.

The first shot was rough on me, so I was afraid of the second, but it was nothing at all. Literally, I could not tell I had had a second shot.
