Not sure if I ought to post something on PP&D. I want to vent but 1 I can't be convinced the other way and 2 nobody would actually care about what I'm talking about.
Basically, burning flags of a country you occupy and walking to celebrate a colonisation of that country = not a cultural expression rather it is a sign of domination and a deliberate provocation.

Mum and me don't like each other when we're drunk. I wonder if we also would prefer other people sober but people being sober for long periods of time is rare?

We went to a play park today. It's quite sad really. The park was popular when I was a kid. Nowadays when we go we never see kids there. So today we decided to be the kids. I wanted to work out and didn't have a nearby outdoor gym so I went to use the climbing frame, then we used the climbing frames and the other stuff too. It's strange because of course adults don't usually do that but if the park's abandoned - why not? I recommend it if it's evening or it's a park that doesn't get used a lot, don't go if there's kids there though or even likely to be, they have first dibs.

What makes you think that about yourself? Nothing you've shown on here would suggest that, but then again you know you better than anyone else on here does.
Sometimes I say really ignorant and horrible things about my own country.
Sometimes harsh observations are true, even when they're controversial and debatable opinions, you wouldn't have formed them without some sort of truth behind them. Even if you later conclude they weren't correct, they likely were valuable arguments to have with yourself to help form the opinions you end up believing is most correct. If they're arguments you have with others, they still might be valuable simply for the perspective they grant. Further, depending on why you're walking them back, you might not have actually been wrong and might just be cowing in the face of a more aggressive adversary and later on realize you weren't wrong and they just had a triggered meltdown.

It's certainly not worth considering yourself to be a bad person over. Jeez, even most people who express the package of bigoted ideas typical of the alt-right I won't insist are bad people. They express bad ideas, but part of the game being played against us is to get us distracted by those issues so we forget how much we have in common - especially when it comes to the idea that the game is rigged against us. It's not that those fights aren't important too, it's just that they're not 'first tier' for all of us, further, even when I strongly disagree with some of the arguments those guys make, it's still sometimes worth having the discussion, and would be even more worthwhile if we could avoid screaming for a few moments.
