I had a nightmare about my upbringing a couple of hours ago. I was convinced that my parents hated me and I'm not that far off the mark. All things must pass.

I think I have strep throat, so that made me cranky enough. Then my nephew decided to set his alarm clock for 5:00 AM, come downstairs, and turn the TV on full blast. I happen to be in the room opposite of the living room wall, so of course I heard it turn on. Overall, terrible morning.

My stupid slumlord had the nerve to say that "the heat doesn't stay on long because you don't need much heat this time of year". I'm in the northeast and I'm freezing. I haven't had heat since sometime Wednesday or Thursday. When the heat did come on it stays on less than a minute and goes off. He is away and calling someone about it tomorrow. The person he is calling is also away. He actually was going to try to get my mother to go in the cellar and light the furnace herself. Our cellar is unfinished and nasty, she doesn't know how to do that, plus something is wrong with the furnace too. It leaks gas. I'm not sure which is worse, the lack of heat or the gas smell we occasionally get when the heat does work. I'm very sensitive to the smell of gas.

I'm going to look at a place Monday that sounds like it might be good. They claim the bedrooms are decent size, the rent is negotiable if you have a steady job, it's close to my mother's job (we don't have a car) and they allow small pets (I have rats).

I feel like my landlord doesn't take anything we say seriously or care about fixing it any more. He seems to have no idea what is wrong with our furnace or how to fix it.

I got compared to a TV SHOW character no less than five times. I did not even know until a kind soul explained it to me, because I do not watch the TV of today. It reminds me of both the situations in Fahrenheit 451 and 1984. That really dampened my mood for today. I wish I figured out how that kind of mood could be reduced.

Big family fight across the hall. They were yelling at the top of their lungs and banging stuff around.I felt sorry for the small children there. They were crying with fear.

The fact that my mum has no empathy for anybody in the family except for herself. I thought that it was just me. She's like that with my dad as well. So anybody who has a male brain, she has no empathy for. :x

It drives me crazy.

A persistent ache. Distraction doesn't really help.
