So much work it's getting hard to remember. Within reasonable margins, I finally got enough work done for my family to back off from shooing me away from my home to work on multiple degrees. It's practically like people buy honest work lately. My job is precarious - freelance - so the rest of me isn't.

I would hop on over to the nearest goodwill or swap meet or other used item store, and check out what they got. nothing new for that price. I know somebody who found an abandoned pair of sennheiser hd212 cans, great value for the price I swear by senns, though sometimes I swear AT them because they're not the most rugged cans.

Oh srry I meant over $5, yeah I have some broken Sennys (Grados too ), I lost a zillion sets of the $5 Monoprice in-ears so I'm wondering what's like PortaPros with less to break.

I ate beans and rice for a while to get my used pair of senn hd580 Precision cans that I use for monitoring my audio work. it is an essential piece of audio gear if one wants to hear what one is doing. they are the best value for the money in terms of neutrality and frequency extension/ultimate transparency of audio. for just pure music listening, however, one can't go wrong with a used [well maintained] set of senn HD560 ovations or HD449 cans, the latter is easier to find in good condition and used for a cheaper price, they are the most neutral [and open-sounding] cans for the money AFAIC, plus they are sealed-back but don't sound like they are sealed back [none of that "closed in" sound].

I paid for me, my girlfriend, & her sister to go to the movies & then eat at McDonalds. My girlfriend's paying me back for her sister's cost.
