Does anybody remember when there were "3-speed" and "5-speed" bikes?

They don't exist any longer.

I was so proud of the Christmas gift of a 3-speed bike when I was nine.

They do exist. :) Take a look at the Pashley Guv'nor as an example. Or the Pashley Speed 5.

Combination locks are relatively easy to open for a criminal. Best avoid this type of lock if you can. Also avoid locks with the round type of keys.
Stick to D type locks or decent well made cable locks. Avoid thin cable locks. Cable locks just give you time. The thin ones can be cut with a single snip. Thick ones can be cut but take longer. Armour plated cable locks tend to have a covering to the cable but the cables themselves tent to be thin, so if the armour plating is forced open one has a thin cable to snip inside.
D locks with flat type of keys are probably the best, and they can be combined with a cable that has a loop at both ends so the cable can be put round something solid while the D part can lock the rear wheel to the frame.

I hope to someday... maybe once we get settled in Georgia and my mom figures out what she wants to do with her life?

It was this type of lock, only mine was purple to match my banana bike. I think it had four digits in the combination and I think it was even lighter weight than the one in the photo.

I loved my lock as much as the bike. I'd play with that lock for hours.

I don't think they had that sort of lock in the early 1970s. I'll have to research this.

I think it was around 1975. That's definitely the type of lock I had though. I can picture it like yesterday and I know the Vietnam war was ending. My dad was building our swimming pool.

In Britain they had those type of locks certainly back to the 1950's, if not earlier.

yes, life is unfair, for sure. if it was unfair for JFK [as he famously said], it surely is unfair for most of the rest of us. life is a hurtful thing. that is one reason why i always search out sunsets. sunsets don't hurt. some people like sunrises better. i think of the beauty of a sunset, and it feels better.

I'm actually cursed.
*
I'm gonna treat all downvotes as a response and art is meant to provoke a reaction so something's working.
*
I can draw it's just a set style, that's why I get a mix of comments good and bad.
*
It better not get boiling over the next couple of days.
*
My mother has a habit of saying things which sound rude and then when I translate them into what they mean as euphemisms she says 'I never said that I wouldn't say that' 'people mean … when they say ...' 'I'm not people'. OK then quit with the vaguely insulting language then.
*
It's still boiling.

Appetite gone haywire

Testosterone

Idiots act manipulative

"Cool", "sucks",

"why" like there is a correct answer, but your answer is no correct

But there is no correct answer . According to them

How about "why are you alive?"

The question does not need an answer

But it does not morally justify that they exterminate me

Extroverts are annoying as f**k. They have the energy and ego to comment on every single thing I do and statement I make

Doctor Gupta told me that I was "taking a nap" when I was lying down waiting

What the f**k

She said it like, bonding

Covalent and ionic bonding

Micromanagement

Even if the statement is correct, they would not have said that, unless, they didn't like it

"You bit the sticker off the apple!"

She acted like I was a football game and she was a sports announcer

"Holier than thou" attitude

Eccentric

Quirky

Zipper

s**t the f**k up b***h

People who keep talking about "Positive energy" are so annoying. I used to feel bad about people who get conned by this type of scammers but nowadays i don't. If you're a gullible person with low intelligence that's understandable but people who are actually intelligent? Can't relate.
