I think there are a lot of weirdos who hang around the Actually Autistic hashtag on Twitter waiting for someone who seems naïve and vulnerable then following them. :(

I'm not as naïve or as weak as people think I am but a lot of that comes from setting proper boundaries.

Social media is dangerous sometimes.

That was a book about true bravery. It made me sad but angry in equal measure. In the end I think they got what they wanted but they paid the ultimate sacrifice.

I absolutely hate this NT (mostly) anti-intellectualism. The next book on my reading list is Socrates' Defence. I won't be able to speak about that one as much as I have done this one without being accused of being 'pretentious'. Still going to read it. And my stepdad is the opposite, he doesn't read himself, he has no knowledge of modern books but he over-praises when I read certain things. I think the two things are linked. People like my stepdad who pretend to read wind up the NTs who don't read.

But it doesn't give social capital to be well read beyond a certain level. The opposite in fact. Unless you're a uni lecturer or something which I can't be because of lack of social skills. Your social skills 'should' outweigh your intellect, is basically the message the NT world sends out.

That book (TMD) will stick with me a long time. I didn't realise how contemporary it was to when it was writing about, it was published in '86. It took me a long time to read because of it's emotional impact.

She basically let young men die when she had the power to stop it and most of them were really young.

The poll I did was really telling then that there was only 2/3s difference in it.

Adam is an absolute coward and it's funny that he wasn't even brave enough to talk about an old firm defeat... He would never be as brave as they were.

(I wouldn't either but that's not the point)

Getting stranger and stranger, yet without batting an eye.

Thoughts toying around in mind lately:
First step of letting mom go, is give her the blessing to finally have a relationship with another man. Maybe the guy can take care of her better than I could've promised myself then.
I've never been supportive of this idea for quite so long, for varying reasons.

Second step is make her stop worrying too much for me. I know is a mother's duty to worry to her children but... That is one puzzle to solve. How does one make a parent stop worrying over their child?
Or maybe this isn't the appropriate step, maybe it's something else. Maybe there isn't any other 'step'.

I feel soo soo sorry for all the children who feel like I did and are having to go through school as the schools are like now.
It was absolute torture to have to go to school, and in my day due to physical punishment, we had relatively quiet lessons. I can't imagine what the lessons are like today for those who have similar issues that I did. And the prison bars they put up around schools today. Torture!

Not worth the cost benefit analysis

Too dramatic

Judgmental

I hope all works out for the very best for both you and your Mom. That you both will be happy and well cared for and loved. :)

the older one gets, the faster everything zooms by. this date [30] will come and go in a flash. it is like dreading jumping into a cold swimming pool, and once one jumps in, it is BRRRR but in a few seconds you get used to it. that is the land of post-30.

Oh no, I already feel like the years zoom by too quickly! I suppose time is relative and it's getting shorter the older I am. Gah. Do not like.

I am putting off studying... I know I need to... I'm just bored and I want to eat Lucky Charms.

I'm still freaking out over turning 30 and it happened almost 5 years ago.
