I've just understood the root of my problem with my jobs: abstract thinking. Not even having bad writing skills. Law requires abstract thinking so much and learning a concept that i can't apply to real life is so hard for me.

If you want to improve your abstract thinking, there are books of exercises you can try. Developing your math skills can also help as math is an abstract way of thinking. Trying to find patterns in statistical data can also increase your ability in this area.

Learning about subjects that it is not possible to understand in a concrete way is another way to develop your abstract thinking. Subjects such as quantum mechanics and astrophysics require us to think in an abstract way.

Working on building your ability to use metaphor and analogy can also develop this way of thinking. Reading and writing poetry can be a good place to start. Visiting a gallery that features modern art can help you to develop a more symbolic way of thinking too.

Thank you so much, i'll try these! The weird thing is i am very good at math, and i love symbols, analogies! But sometimes i struggle to understand legal concepts. I have no idea how my brain works.

Also Isabella, i'm so glad it's over! Hopefully you can relax and rest for a bit now!

My husband is still on a work trip on the west coast, and family members wanted to take the kids overnight. I have the whole evening and night to myself! What will I do! Besides this huge exam I'm super anxious about...

And I got a 60% on a quiz I thought I did amazingly on, because of-freaking-course.

Raining outside. Not enough to not go for a walk. But whatever.

Ho hum. Penis had the nerve to kick me out of the bathroom.

I'm having that feeling when a huge weight is lifted from your shoulders and you suddenly feel like yourself again. I've been zoned out by anxiety for the past two months and now I'm thinking "OMG It's autumn! Bring on the pumpkin spice! Bring on the Brontës! Bring on the apple crumble! Bring on the dark!!"

It's like a revelation! I want to run in circles and rejoice!

I adore autumn as it gets darker and darker and darker, and the weather gets more wuthering every day!

October is Wuthering Heights month!

November is my favourite month because it's dark and brooding and Christmas is in the air!! !

I just remembered to be happy!! WOOT!!

(Snow would be great too, just not in sunlight!!)

Yay! Apple crumble is so good! I made a blueberry one before but perhaps an apple one is in order this year! My favorite kind is cherry though. Yum!

Ten Men Dead. Maybe it would be different if my circle was less Republican but I got more praised reading that then 'you're being pretentious'. Then I read Socrates' Defence. I knew not to tell anyone except my stepdad who's actually a bit pretentious (he likes clever things for the sake of being thought of as clever...) and my mum who doesn't judge people. I knew if I told most of my acquaintances I'd be called pretentious.

Newspapers in this country are getting disgusting. Whether it's digging up private stories which people had deliberately kept private or filming people's reactions to their friends' deaths immediately as they're told. It all seems to be the tabloid press. I thought we'd left those days behind us but it seems like celebrities are 'fair game'.

I'm thinking about my own childhood heroes from when I was about 10 and the time I had with my mum around that age and with my friends.

Is it normal (aspie normal) I've forgotten some people from the 90s but I'm only 31?

I don't think it's "abnormal" per se.

You were a child in the 1990s---I'm sure you've run into lots of people and you've forgotten some.

I barely remember anything from the 90s. Haha.

I’m sure it’s snowed in the mountains of Europe in October.

I wish I could afford a K-swap. It makes sense to do the engine swap before I worry about fixing the A/C, since there's no sense fixing the A/C just to tear of the parts right back out.

.. Even clothes has this certain feel in it even to go as far not having to look at it.
Otherwise, it's mostly noise. So far I can only distinguish between 'pluses' and 'minuses', and not more specific than that... Yet.
It would've been more logical if I'd took a look at it, then there's stirring subconscious thoughts and feelings... It's not. Not anymore.

Is this how alexithymics inquire about the names and descriptions between sensations?

Except this isn't about social and emotional of 'self and other' cognition anymore -- after so many years of intellectually compensating, observing and practicing it.
This is even more complicated and verbally incomprehensible more than the known usual range of emotions and social setups. It's more chaotic than ever...
But not volatile, heavy and overwhelmingly chaotic. More like everything is connected and the strings are tangled up chaotic.

Whether or not I should go protest after work on friday...I kinda want to check out the climate change protest down-town the march apparently starts at 11 but I work till 12, but there is supposed to be a rally after the march so I could make it to that at least go down and show my support for a while.

I just don't really like crowds, but I damn well do care about climate change so I feel I should at least show my face as a supporter of doing something about it.

Alright... Some basics in intuition, maybe.

If it's 'heavier', 'dense', 'tense' or it sucks out of you, it's a "no" or "negative" or "doesn't match you".
If it's 'lighter', sometimes it doesn't seem to feel much, perhaps 'neutral' if not 'better', that's usually a "yes" or "positive" or either "it matches you or better".

Once upon a time, got confused between the two and didn't get to know which is which but it was there. Never did research on it. Thought it's just mainly luck.
