I would also like to see some more of this part of the country. In this region, I've only been to Cambridge, Norwich and, when I was really young, Great Yarmouth. I'd particularly like to explore the coastal areas of north Norfolk (especially Cromer and Blakeney Point) and I'd also like to visit the Imperial War Museum site in Duxford near Cambridge. I might try the latter as a day trip at some point but it doesn't seem easy to get to by public transport.

Cromer is a pretty place, as is Southwold.

Lincoln cathedral, winner of the most recent cathedral world cup (no I didn't know there was such a thing either)

I think it's funny the way it completely dwarfs the castle on the other side of it.

There are things that I do like about the UK. Most of my favourite rock and pop bands are British, the castles are very nice, I like the food, the Union Jack is one of the prettier looking flags, and those old double decker buses called Routemasters. I also have my tea in the middle of the afternoon from time to time. I also enjoy British comedy.

My Britishness is open and accepting, but nationalist all the same.

Sir Roger Bannister, the first to break the four minute mile, passed away at the age of 88.

It was sad about Sir Roger Bannister.
I hope he is sleeping peacefully.

Nah! I hope he's still running in the afterlife breaking records

I expect he will rest first, then grab all the grannies and grandads and get them to break records with him. :)

He went on to become a major-league neurologist-doctor.

Bannister, that is.

I think of Bannister and of Sir Edmund Hillary in the same sort of way.

Oh, we have lost the great Trevor Baylis today too.
He invented the wind up radio. :(

I recognised his name immediately. Still, a reasonable innings I suppose. I hope he was hale and hearty right up to the end.

He was a character.

My Mum's garage. It's quite cool at the moment. Ideal as a large open-plan makeshift fridge for the booze.

Agree. We've stopped moving the booze from the garage into the fridge. It actually gets warmer after an hour in the fridge.
