I think beer tastes better out of glass than cans.

Sometimes, yeah. But it's not as convenient when you have to carry glass, and a bottle opener if it's not a twist off, and then carry the glass back.

4-5 dozen glass bottles of Corona in the garage (dunno if we've ever bought Corona in a can!) and I've taken some to the beach, along with sliced limes, but I'm sure many will be drank at home vs. out simply because it's more convenient to drink from glass at home and put the empty in a bag/box to be returned vs. drag it around.

At The beach (not every beach!), cans are the only thing that aren't garbage. Everyone throws them on the sand for can pickers to collect and make their money - it's the bottom rung of an entire micro-economy down there. Can't do that with glass and gotta carry them up the ~490 stairs.

Oh I can't wait to get to the beach. I'll be there in a couple of weeks time.

2 weeks??!

Pre-covid I was at the beach 5-7 evenings/week. Then barely at all. Now 2-4 times/week recently, but with work and other things I won't be there That much. Gotta make money, deal with life, and go do some other sports this Summer - mind you, at a different beach. 8) Plus the motorcycle isn't gonna ride itself. So many things to do all Summer.. including possibly moving.. most of these things I'd rather not to do at all and just have a drink at the beach! BUT, gotta put in the work to get what I want. Discipline and all that.

Yeah I used to go a lot a few years ago but that's when we had transport. The coast is about 50 miles away from where I live so we get there as often as possible still.

I'd love to live near the coast.

Tried to stick to drinking 1 pint an hour last night but got anxious when meeting some new people later on in the evening so started to drink my bud lights fast to feel better and more socially uninhibited :(

I had started of slowly (1 pint an hour) drinking 3 pints of ‘3.5 percent’ beer but I didn’t feel any buzz or good feeling at all when having it at that pace.

My parents say I should go out later like 7:30 and leave pub at 11.

There’s A beach 10 miles from my home, but the beach I go to nearly daily at times is 30 miles away.

There are lots of other beaches here I’ve never even bothered to go to ever. Same with tons of islands and lakes - but the islands are especially expensive to travel to.

My boyfriend lives ten minutes walk from the beach. He's so lucky.

1. You didn’t feel much buzz on 3 pints of light beer in 3 hours because you drink enough to have a high tolerance to alcohol. It takes 20 mins after a drink to reach peak BAC, then it plateaus for 2 hours before coming down 0.015% BAC per hour on average. You shouldn’t feel drunk on 3 pints in 3 hours, but you should feel Something.. even after the first pint. If that starts happening to me I drop my drinking down to 1 or fewer drinks per day just so my tolerance doesn’t go up and I don’t have to drink much to feel a buzz. Healthier and cheaper.

2. It’s a double edged sword with autism especially. Drinking makes you feel less socially anxious, but drinking too much, even for NT’s, nukes our gut flora and results in decreased social functions/increased autism symptoms. I read an article about NT binge drinkers losing social functioning like this. I’ve definitely experienced it myself, too, when I think about times I’ve drank too much And had too few probiotics in my diet.

I usually have a weeks break between drinking beer so my tolerance can’t be that high
