Fat, fat, fat...I feel fat, fat, fat.

Slow, slow, slow...I run slow, slow, slow.

I don't know what the weather is going to do, but if I see any snowflakes, I'm going to be peed off.

France is known for its high fashion, but only a tiny minority of people can afford such things. The majority of people in France wear the same as everyone else - cheap Chinese imports.

France is a nation run by bureaucrats. Every aspect of French life is ruled by bureaucracy and lots and lots of rules. The French love nothing better than to fill in forms and create endless organisations to process these forms. If there is a problem they create a new organisation to handle it, or rather to create more forms. The French are drowning in pieces of paper. You can't go for a piss in France without getting written permission countersigned by the French president and ten organisations, each of which takes months to process.

Regarding the telephone lines, France Telecom (aka Orange) has the monopoly. Their only interest is providing infrastructure in large towns where they can make a huge profit. They make no investment in the the telecommunications in rural areas. I'm stuck with 1950's telephone lines here. The insulation is falling off the wires. However, because it "works" they won't replace the lines. The wire was hanging off the pole a couple of years ago due to broken connectors - the cattle were using it as a skipping rope in the field - the neighbour had to hook it back to the pole using a washing line prop because France telecom said "But the line still works - so no problem". French technology at its best.

Believe it or not, this is making want to move there. Sounds like a trip back to the fifties technology wise, and everybody would be so busy filling out papers, nobody would have time to bother ME! :D

Yea, I sometimes like filling out paperwork....gives me practice with my handwriting. But how things work there sucks.

I got really upset when I learned that the cartoon Adventure Time has introduced a new character called Embryo Princess who is an aborted baby. Aside from the religious reasons why I find that offensive (which I won't delve into because I don't want this thread to turn into a flame war), the biggest reason why it infuriates me is because a doctor offered to give my mom an abortion when I tested positive for Down's Syndrome when I was still inside her. What if Embryo Princess had tested positive for a disorder and that's why her mom aborted her? I feel like Natasha Allegri, the person who came up with the Embryo Princess, is insensitive.

I'm boycotting Adventure Time and never watching it again. I've found plenty of other great shows to watch where the creators know better than to drag their personal agendas into them.

The fact that Adventure Time would actually do something like that also makes me upset. I also don't like the fact that doctors are still offering abortions. Embryo Princess. What a dumb idea.

There's another thing that's making me upset right now. Insomnia. If I didn't have it, I'd be sleeping instead of posting this message.

The SAT is (technically tomorrow) in two days. The best solution seems to be a series of low-pulse, low-pressure hyperfocus sessions lasting 0120 separated by 0020.

ADDITION:
I forgot to get water in my ears while showering. :x

The paperwork often exists as a barrier to delay or prevent things happening, or to otherwise take money off you by one means or another, or to prevent you claiming any money back that is owed to you by the government. One simple example: When I moved to France I had to fill in numerous forms to apply for a "carte vitale" - a health card. They asked for copies of my birth certificate and passport on no less than six occasions, each occasion accompanied with numerous forms to fill in. It took them four years to process the forms!! ! After four years my card arrived - but with my name mangled so badly the card was unusable. So it took more bureaucrats to get my name correct - it wasn't even just a simple spelling mistake they added another word to my name AND got my date of birth incorrect.

The love the French people have for bureaucracy is only matched by their incompetence at bureaucracy. There are hundreds of organisations in France that serve no purpose other than to delay things and to gather paperwork to pass on to other similarly useless organisations. France "employs" a much higher % of people than any other country doing these pointless jobs. The main qualification to become a bureaucrat is to be illiterate and innumerate but to know the right people. French bureaucracy has literally cost me thousands of pounds/euros due to interminable delays and their incompetence.

Another example of French bureaucratic incompetence and how it hurts people. On the local news today a girl got home from school to find both her parents had hanged themselves. The bureaucrats who calculate and handle their tax / social contribution deductions out of their salaries had got their calculations wrong for many years. Consequently they sent the parents a letter demanding €200,000 (around $US 270,000). Apparently they made the mistake with lots of people who work as physiotherapists and there are a number of people who have had similar massive bills. For the average working person it means instant ruin. French bureaucrats can destroy lives in an instant. You never know what nightmare to expect in the post from them.

The thing about the parents hanging themselves was freaky.

The thing that made me unhappy is that I've overslept by half an hour and I have to go into work this morning.

My brother is really getting into my nerves. He was holding the chocolates my dad bought us, and when I asked for some, he actually withdrew the entire package from me. Although he claimed it as a joke, I was deeply offended, and I am really pissed off this evening.

I know, this is childish of me, but I am easily upset by those things.

Agreed, Chrissyrun. Though I need to grow up as well, it's pretty hard in my case. I'm trying, though.
