1. I've lived in four out of the five boroughs of New York City----but have never lived outside New York City.

2. I lived in the Bronx sometime in the 1970s.

3. I had a bathtub in the kitchen, and a water closet, in an apartment in Greenwich Village in 1982.

I get so confused by your NYC travels, Kortie, since I don't know the geography. I recall #3 so I'll say that #2 is your lie. I think you were in the Bronx in the 80s.

1. My brother and I used to ride dirt bikes in a vacant field, on which a music studio was later constructed. My nephew works in that music studio now, which is ironic. My brother and I never made the connection or remembered the dirt bike course until very recently.

2. I'm being followed about the house by a huge sunshine smiley face helium balloon (no string). It's been at my ceiling for almost two months, but now that it's deflating it follows me around -- because of static electricity I suppose. Either that or I'm haunted by sunshine and smiles  :chin: :sunny:

3. I'm ready to read the last two chapters of my biography about Mary Shelley, who I find to be a timeless example of beauty, grace and courage. I keep avoiding the ending because I think it will make me sad. Then, it's onward to Frankenstein.

#1. For some reason, I can't see you riding a dirt bike.

You're correct, I did live in the Bronx in the 1960s, 1980s, and the beginning of the 1990s---but not in the 1970s.

LOL so true. Me, on a dirt bike? My brother had a dirt bike but I didn't. The site was repurposed after a friend of ours broke his neck and died on the BMX track. So sad.

I was quite an accomplished mountain biker at one point, but I never rode a dirt bike.

I failed to mention that my nephew worked at the music studio on that site, but he doesn't work there now.

1. The toll on all bridges in NYC in 1974 was 25 cents. My father used to throw quarters into the machine.

2. Gas was up to 50 cents a gallon by 1972.

3. in 1973, I paid 27 cents for a 16 ounce soda. 25 cents, plus 2 cents tax.

I remember the tolls when we went to Philadelphia to visit my cousins. I thought it looked like a fun job to sit in the booth and just smile at people (or, not...)

I'll guess 3 because I have no clue about 1970s American prices. They all sound plausible to me :)

Truthfully, most people who work in tollbooths are unfriendly sorts---especially in the cities. Though you find some friendly ones, even in the cities.

The lie is #2. Gas didn't go up to 50 cents a gallon until after the Oil Embargo of 1973.

In 1974, some tollbooths were manned by people; others were just places where one could throw a quarter into the machine to pay the toll.

1. I framed two of my large Brontë paintings today but I'm afraid to hang them in case they fall, the glass breaks, and the pictures get punctured. (I tend to obsess about catastrophes) :(

2. I cut my hand on the glass when framing the first picture. I was more worried about getting blood on the print than about treating my wound which, incidentally, is still bleeding a bit.

3. I have some Brontë photos on my phone and I'm hoping to send them to an online printing company today. My problem is in deciding how many of which size.

1 and 2 are true.

3 is my lie. I do have Brontë photos on my phone, but I'm not printing them via an online service and I'm not printing them today. I'll wait until closer to the bedroom reno and print / frame them in person somewhere.

1. My bedroom is currently being renovated.

2. My kitchen was renovated in 2016.

3. My utility room was renovated in 2017.

All bids are open for 2019.

Well, my contractor hasn't started on my bedroom yet so #1 is technically my lie. I have, however, done a little bit of rearranging in there on my own :P

2 and 3 are true.
