I've stayed home from work because I'm sick for the last two days and I will have soooo much work to go back to on Monday. :( This is why I don't like being sick! Well, besides the discomfort of my chest hurting from coughing...

I have five days in a row off. I need to make use of them. Image

It's official. I'm a space cadet!

I have ADHD, mixed subtype -- but more inattentive and clued out, than hyper.

Gosh you had to put yourself through that and made it out ALIVE...
I'm sure the process of diagnosing it in adults is excruciating.
Will they actually help you with referrals or recommendations and actually help

or is it just them giving you papers and sending you on your way .. So you have to come and pay even more just to get basic help ?

Yes it's been unbearably exhausting, but very thorough. I've been really impressed with their work.

I still go back on Monday for therapy with a neuropsychologist, and referrals to more therapists. I will get my giant long report, too. The psychiatrist and psychologist will both be available to me by video appointments in the future, if I choose. (It's too far for me to commute). Today's doctor wrote a lengthy letter to my GP explaining the protocol, so she'll be on board. I have to go see her once a week for a few months. The neuropsychiatrist is also coordinating cardiology followup and sending a report to my ASD diagnostician.

It's the most extensive medical overhaul I've ever had. I really can't complain!

Here come the amphetamines! 8) lol - I hope they help.

Thanks. I had ABSOLUTELY no clue I was ADHD. It's almost as shocking as getting an autism diagnosis as an adult.

Oh. the mix of great focus combined with tuning out Is misleading maybe? I know v little about it...
It makes sense that the two overlap though as thats what I see in my family...

I've always been spaced-out, but I didn't realise that was part of ADHD. I pictured people who run around in circles. That's not me ... but my mind is always in a whirlwind and I can't focus unless it's a hyper-focus autism interest.

The meds are supposed to really help with executive function. I'll let you know how it goes!

Autism and ADHD are very common together. Many people on here have both diagnoses. Mine was just painstaking because of my blood pressure and my stroke. They had to be really careful prescribing the meds.

I'm super anxious because I'm thinking a lot right now about a group of people I'm sort of friends with online and I think they might intentionally be ignoring me (again) but I'm not positive and I just always feel hurt by them but I don't feel like leaving them is a good idea. I have other friends I like talking to more at least but the other group always kicks my anxiety up and always leave me feeling like I messed up somehow. I'm switching meds right now too so maybe that is a factor in my feeling so bad this morning.

I feel for everyone going through anxiety and depression. I have had quite a few anxious moments myself about a variety of things. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
