Feeling paranoid vs defaulting to normal self n trusting n assuming good or neutral intent..

The latter brought about a lot of suffering from being so naive
The former makes ur heart constrained and u cant think straight bcuz you dont know where it ends

I just want to sleep well and wake up feeling rested for once in my life (seriously, I can't remember that ever happening, not even once).

Ugh, phone call tomorrow from SSI to confirm that I can keep getting my benefits. I hate phone calls. I have great difficulty in making myself heard and understood over the phone even with people I'm familiar with, let alone people I'm not. Needless to say, I'm dreading it.

hey, at least you know that you're getting them

for me every month i get bombarded with letters each one having contradictory statements - yes you can still keep getting benefits, no, they have been reduced to zero, yes you have some but they have been reduced, once in a whole they'll ask me for a ridiculous sum of $13000

absolutely maddening

Wondering about what happened with the new girl that joined the program I'm attending. She came once and I never saw her again. I think one of the other peers in my group might have scared her off. I hope she's doing okay though.

New guy is coming to the group on Wednesday, I wonder what he's going to be like and I hope the same peer that might've ran off the new girl don't scare him off too.

There's this woman at college and I don't know if she's aspie or if she's deliberately rude. But she's blunt in ways that NTs would find rude and I find her rude unless it's not deliberate.

Eg. We were in the canteen talking about local cafes. She looks at everyone and says 'if you have time to go to cafes, you have too much time on your hands' then storms off.

Basically she called everyone there lazy.

She sounds like a character in Corner Gas (Lacey's friend) who was always rude ... Exceptionally so...
except around Lacey or Lacey didn't pick up on it...

I don't think aspergers is at all an excuse..maybe her family talks like that so she thinks it's fine.. But maybe nobody approached her..

Then again impulse control is a thing. I've said extremely rude things which I realized in retrospect..
Like once XH best friend was over n his wife (she was his girlfriend at the time)..
And they were all standing outside smoking n i was there toi since my baby was asleep.
Then the girl kept telling her boyfriend not to smoke and how she trained him etc but he fell into it again.

Finally I said, 'You're telling him not to smoke but you're smoking the whole time! You're such a hypocrite!!'
I was laughing when I said it since it was so funny to see..

And they were just quiet .. Now years later I realized that she never visited my house again after that

This amused me but yeah, she should probably keep that to herself. :)

^ you could try dropping something like “it’s nice to hang out with a man without worrying about him trying to get in my knickers” into the conversation...
Dunno...
Got a bit less than two decades of experience being an adult male: we’re pretty good at generating and maintaining false hope all on our own

Ahahah, i already tried giving hints telling him its nice to have a friend like you and such.
The thing is i don't have many friends so when he asks to hang out it makes me happy, but im pretty sure i don' t feel anything else for him and don't want to lead him on.. We'll see how it goes!

^ good luck with letting him down gently and keeping the friendship :)

I know what you mean: irl friendships are so hard to come by that it can be hard to tell the difference between romantic and platonic
(I once spent a week questioning my sexuality because I was so happy about a new friend :lmao: )

Thanks! Hahah ikr i feel like i keep getting girlfriendzoned whenever i met a guy lately.. I guess people don't care much for friendships after a certain age, that's what one of my friends directly said.
