I'm baffled and irritated by this sheep mentality. Slightly dubious about being unable to shop for supplies.

Unphased if I contract the Coronavirus.

History repeating, according to my mother, as there were similar levels of extreme panic during the AIDS epidemic of the 1980's.

Yes, I understand the severity of it all, but by god, the overreactions wind me up.

What happened to the "Be Kind" campaign that was running?

Flavour of the month trends as "Love Thy Neighbour" is once again pervasively discarded in favour of "Screw you Jack", and "Every man for themselves."

I weep.

My sister n her husband likely have it they've had the symptoms for a week now.. Well he has for 2 weeks been ill.. She just got sick the past few days. They have been isolating for a while now. He got ill first.

She works at a hospital and can't go to work but they said she has to yet wont let her get tested!!

So she's taking time off at her own risk but she knows it's unethical to listen to them n expose her elderly patients to a potentially life threatening disease

She said nobody that age
Wd even think to do that and be sexually explicit in their talk n dance n dance at a gay bar crossdressing if their family hadnt molded them to it.

Having grown up in Michigan, I was raised on the idea that we should stock our pantry with as much canned and dried foods as we could, anyway. Mom and I even canned veggies straight from the backyard garden. I've carried this over into my adult years. Even before the Virus hit, we had enough goods on-hand to last at least a month -- more, with strict rationing. Also, we're not tossing out any food; we either make just enough for one meal, or we have the leftovers at the next meal. No trips to the grocery store unless absolutely necessary, which won't be for a while.

I just checked some statistics with CALTRANS. Freeway traffic is down by 25% over the same time span as last week (Monday, 06:00 to 07:00 PDT). Schools and businesses closed, people working from home, some are just staying home at the slightest symptom.

Scary.

Is it fair for people to treat you like you’re ret*d without and proof other than rumours and never letting you in on what they are thinking. They just talk excessively slowly with a pitying look on their face.

I'm slowly becoming obsessed with coronavirus.

I'm officially scrapping my goal of getting a job and/or my own place by the end of the year. First I had to have a few days to recover from our New Year trip to Chicago, then I got bronchitis, then my depression got bad enough that I had to be hospitalized for it again, then I was having a rough time with medication side effects (which are better now but not gone yet), and now all this COVID-19 stuff. All right, world/fate/whatever, you can stop now - I give up.

I feel like the woman in Melancholia.
I was inside for 5 years. Back then it was because I was mentally ill. It was literally insane (hope I don't get in trouble for describing my own illness as that).
Now it's prescribed that I HAVE to stay in for four months. Like I'm waking up only to go into the disaster for real. Like I foresaw it in a way?

Also a big difference and a sign I know I'm healthy is, I can be fully immersed in a book. I couldn't do that back then.

i remember when i was a kid and i thought that the adults in this world who ran everything knew what they were doing and they had it all under control. i'd kill to have that false sense of security and naïveté again

funny watching the market worshippers and "pull yourself up by your bootstrap"ers turn into socialists overnight when they get scared. 2.7 trillion and counting dumped into the stock market just to prop it up for a day. hmmm...sure sounds like a central, planned economy to me

think about what that money could have done for real people.

thank god for the second amendment. maybe it's time to play "the most dangerous game" with these reckless idiotic cockroaches.

The song Tabloid Junkie by the same person I've been obsessed with for the past week.
It can apply to so much. Intention is everything.

Speculate to break the one you hate
Circulate the lie, you confiscate,
Assassinate and mutilate.
The hounding media in hysteria
Who's the next for you to resurrect
JFK exposed the CIA
Truth be told the grassy knoll
The blackmail story in all your glory
It's Slander
You say it's not a sword
But with your pen you torture men
You'd crucify the Lord

And you don't have to read it
And you don't have to eat it
To buy it is to feed it
So why do we keep foolin' ourselves
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual
Though everybody wants to read all about it
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual, actual
They say he's homosexual
In the hood
Frame him if you could
Shoot to kill
To blame him if you will
If he dies sympathize
Such false witnesses
Damn self righteousness
In the black
Stab me in the back
In the face
To lie and shame the race

Heroine and Marilyn
The headline stories of
All your glory
It's slander
With the words you use
You're a parasite in black and white
Do anything for news
If you don't go and buy it
Then they won't glorify it
To read it sanctifies it
Then why do we keep foolin' ourselves
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual

Everybody wants to read all about it
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual
See, but everybody wants to believe all about it
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual
See, but everybody wants to believe all about it
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual, actual
She's blonde and she's bisexual
Scandal
With the words you use
You're a parasite in black and white
Do anything for news
And you don't go and buy it
Then they won't glorify it
To read it sanctifies it
Why do we keep foolin' ourselves
Slander
You say it's not a sin
But with your pen you torture men
Then why do we keep foolin' ourselves
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual
Though everybody wants to read all about it
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual
See, but everybody wants to believe all about it
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual
Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don't make it factual, actual
You're so damn dis-respectable

I am so completely over everything and all of this uncertainty and disruptions in routine, and constant flux. I just want my regular work life back. I want my kids in school. I want everything to GO BACK TO NORMAL. I can't stand it.

Can't wait to explore the near-ghost town city before any mass house arrests or serious level quarantines are implemented. :skull:  Though, just for a while and maybe prepare a bit.

Tempting as it is to prolong this, I wouldn't tempt fate.

Roaming free at the latter to last days of Holy week per year is, still, definitely better than this panic ridden phenomena.
