I'll call you doctor smart. Doctor feelgood gave Tennessee Williams barbiturates and amphetamines. :skull:

Last night, I had a dream that I had forgiven the psychopath that had changed the course of my life, as I knew it. The dream was incredibly vivid, to the point that when I awoke, I had this profound feeling of freedom, or, a heavy weight was lifted off of me. In this dream, he was nice and we were happy and got along effortlessly, and we were laughing and light hearted with each other, throughout the entire dream. In real life, I have never forgiven him for duping and deceiving me, and I have always thought I never would, and I have always been ok with that, but, perhaps, this is a sign that I forgive him? Or myself? Who knows. All I know is that it wasn't upsetting to me, when I awoke. I felt so light. Like a feather floating about, or similar. Perhaps I needed to have this dream, for some reason, as it has been 3.5 years since the actual experience happened and without realizing, I may have had residual parts of it to let go of.

I am curious -

How do you know if you are having, or have had a "Lucid" dream? If you are dreaming while awake, then, can it be anything other than what is known as "day-dreaming" (which isn't even related to the type of dreams one has while sleeping)? Do you experience the lucid dream in the same way, that you experience dreams while sleeping (in a REM state)? I think I need to do some research on this.

a truly lucid dream is one in which you know unmistakably that you are dreaming, that you have waking levels of self-awareness but in a dreaming environment and have full control of the direction of your dream. there is some overlap between that and astral projection/OOBE. for more info about such, google Robert Montgomery/journeys out of the body.

for the last several days I've had tantalizing glimpses of dreams that evaporated upon waking. :nerdy:

^ I hate when that happens! I try, in those initial seconds, upon waking, to fall back asleep, so the dream can play out, but then I become conscious of the fact, that it will likely not happen. Sad, when the dream is so fantastic...

I try most often, to grab onto the last remembered fragment of dream, then try to edge it backwards as if rewinding a reluctant videotape. I keep at it until I determine a narrative.

I had a strange series of dreams about me being in jr. high school school again, and I was in a summer camp during the summer with my 8th grade class, we were with our teacher in an office and I asked her if I could go out and bicycle, and she said "sure sure sure, just get out of my hair!" so I gladly got out of her hair and went outside into the woods, at which point I became an adult at my present age and a former coworker from the hospital beckoned me to come inside, so I walked inside the veteran's hospital that my dad was in until he passed away, and we went to a dream coworker's quarters in the hospital and found that he had soiled his room badly, he peed and pooed all over it and it stank to heaven. we disgustedly picked through his belongings as he had left and not returned in quite a while. then the dream segued into one about two elderly lesbians, and one of them finds a curious bit of junk on the floor so bends down to pick it up, it is a bunch of bright metal food can lids tied together at one end with a string. she played with it like a toy, flipping each lid in turn. then I awoke.

During a nap this afternoon I had yet another dream about skulls, only this time it involved the entire skeletons. In the dream my brother and I were kids again, and he had a video of what he said was a Bugs Bunny movie. I'm like, big deal I've seen this movie maybe a million times but decide to watch with him. but when he puts the tape in I see what looks like a live-action intro to some cartoons with the cartoon Bugs Bunny making a very brief appearance. Then I see cartoon people ranting about something like how they love guns and gun control is bad, and then they get shot several times by a cartoon skeleton. I think the skeletons were of people where were killed by being shot, and yet they're shooting and killing people who are pro-gun. But since when have dreams ever made sense?
And then afterwards I see what are like a bunch of America's Funniest Home videos but I don't want to watch real people being hurt in the name of "comedy", and then I woke up.

dreams are just a series of puns strung together, and in the interpretation lies the meaning/narrative.

I do and I don't want to write about the dream I had last night which has been bugging me all day. I was sent back to the 70's with my husband but we got separated and these three guys started following me so I walked as calmly as I could, as if I didn't realize they were following me, and walked into a convenience store. I tried hiding behind a rack of junk food, but they came in. They kept glancing my way, but with the two clerks in the store, I guess they didn't want to raise a fuss. I snuck around and got the clerks to hide me in a back room (they were nice older ladies). Once in the back, I hid in the closet, which was huge, but as soon as they left, the men came in and found me.
I can't post the rest but it's just not getting out of my head...

I should have!
Instead I dreamt about the zombie apocalypse and I was traveling with an Apache and I was telling him about my Cherokee friend while we were running from the undead. As the dream went on, his skin turned black, looked like a bog mummy.
This one zombie was somewhat intelligent and infiltrated a group I ran across and infected others in it including this woman who had her eyeball ripped out.
We were trying to get to an airplane to go to Oklahoma but we got overrun.
