Trying to figure out how to transition smoothly from one part of my violin concerto to another, and cursing the fact that the violin doesn't go a semitone lower than it does, because that would make things easy (no, scordatura tuning isn't practical; there's nowhere for the violinist to retune, and even if there was, it would sound clumsy within a movement. In between movements would be a different matter.) I think I know what I want to do, I just have to fine-tune it.

daydreaming, listening to music, thinking about what the hell I am going to do with my life, thinking about what the hell I am going to do about money during the summer, thinking about my garden and its composition and management, planning my afternoon, drinking irish breakfast tea sweetened with local orange blossom honey.
