No, they're better. Cats only talk back when you're on acid and never really care about your problems. Books might be easier and less messy to open than people, but not nearly as satisfying.

Life tends to do that, and the worse you are at expressing attachment in healthy ways, the more often it tends to happen.

Did you get it?

My brother does air duster sometimes....and I don't want him to die of that. I wonder if I should get him a whippet set up so maybe he'll do that instead as from what I hear it can be less harmful while providing a similar high. And I am all for harm reduction like he must get something from it but I would like to encourage a less deadly option. And seems wippets could be that, which yeah I'd rather he do that than inhale air duster.

My understanding is that Whippets/nitrous oxide isn't very similar to inhalants, like the propellants in duster or thousands of other products. They might be somewhat similar in some ways though. As far as I know Diethyl ether produces similar effects to inhalants, but without the same degree of severe side effects. Nitrous oxide and ether have both been used as anaesthetics, so I might be wrong about how similar nitrous is to the inhalants he's using.

Part of the problem with most inhalants that are abused, is that the toxic effects are inherent, there is no real way to manage or reduce risk. Saying this as someone who doesn't really apply any value judgments regarding people's intoxicants of choice, huffing inhalants is about as dangerous as intoxicants go, both short-term and long-term. They're neurotoxic and also often carcinogenic, they kill your brain and cause cancer; I would strongly encourage someone who is using them to find pretty much any other intoxicant to use instead.

Whippets would be safer.
So would ether.
Would he maybe consider having a drink or hitting a bowl instead? If he really wants to get f****d up (like, if those don't provide what he's after), salvia's available at a lot of convenience stores in Ontario and would also be much less risky alternative.

I know I am cranky when I voluntarily enter a not a political discussion on FB. I should get a half point for it being a pointed comment from disappointment.

Online people are ok and aspie people are ok but it's annoying extravert stupid NTs talking to the same. Why not just use a phone? Anyone w any sense right now is using a phone or texting or zooming or social media or forums etc not face to face!

Why are a substantial amount of Americans, not the ones I engage with, stupid? A guy in Arkansas died because he drank bleach because someone told him to. If Corbyn told me to drink bleach, I'd stop supporting him, I wouldn't drink bleach... Probably the same kind of person who sees UFOs and doesn't trust vaccines. The Americans I mix w online are ashamed of this kind of person.

I wouldn't break the law right now cos it's really serious, if I did then it would be family. Maybe ironically if someone caught it and was dying of it.

There's a lockdown and my neighbours are having a barbecue.
It's not that hard to stay away from other ppl. People aren't all that great that you should break the law to be near them. They're not books/cats.

Agreed. I can't tolerate selfish people and people who complain about being bored at home. Its not hard to find something to amuse yourself especially with the internet.

It’s not the people. It’s the food.

I wish I could go to a barbecue. It’s possible to stay 6 feet from people and still be able to talk to them.

No food is worth risking the health of your neighbour who you know is sheltering though. I'm really glad we've not taken up any offers of help from them because they're not sticking to the guidelines.

I have some mixed feelings right now... my friend from my school days, two years younger than me, had her third child five days ago. I'm happy for her, but I also feel kind of jealous. Not that I'd be ready to have children in my current life situation, but still.

I feel incredibly happy about some things, and overwrought about others ... all at the same time.

It's kind of surreal.
