because I suppose what happens in the tent stays in the tent?
The tent had a marquee inviting the public to see what happens in it. So I doubt that was the meaning.
and las vegas has many marquees inviting the public to see what happens in it. that was the lame metaphor I was engaging in.
War
To dream of a war signifies disorder and chaos in your waking life You are experiencing some internal conflict or emotional struggle which is tearing you up inside. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you are either being overly aggressive or that you are not being assertive enough. Perhaps you need to be prepared to put up a fight in some area of your life. On a more direct level, the dream may be reflection of current wars around the world and your personal feelings about it.
Tent
To dream that you are outside of a tent indicates that you need a more stable routine in life. You want more than a semblance of normalcy in a chaotic life. IOW the dream may mean instability and insecurity in your current situation. You are not presently able to settle down. Also, we dream in puns so to dream of a tent you can't enter may mean your inTENTions are failing to manifest in reality.
Battlefield
To dream that you are outside or on the outskirts of a battlefield represents some major conflict occurring in your waking life that you are not able to effectively approach. It may indicate a new situation, new problem or new relationship which you need to solve and conquer.
Marquee
To see a marquee in your dream indicates that you need help. You need some direction and guidance in your life. Pay attention to what is emblazoned on the marquee and what it is pointing you to do. Perhaps the dream is highlighting "Now Playing" IOW sign of the times.
I assume there are spectators, in your dream, watching the fighting. Maybe, you feel there are people being entertained by your struggles.

I had a dream that the human species actually came here from Venus and that it was vital to return there to find out about our past and all the knowledge that was left behind but we can no longer do that because now it is completely uninhabitable. I woke up feeling completely heartbroken and couldn't shake that feeling. I've also had weird dreams while in a fevered sickness when I was young that were like glimpses in to the future which have ended up happening, makes me really wonder about simulation theory.

seeing venus in a dream indicates things that you cherish in waking life. as far as seeing into the future, many people past and present have said that all time is NOW, IOW past/present and future exist simultaneously but limited human waking consciousness only can see a tiny temporal sliver, tip of the iceburg style, with all the rest hidden from cognition beneath the surface of existence. when we dream, it is said our astral bodies leave and ascend to a higher dimension outside of space/time, and like a traffic helicopter a mile over a traffic jam on the freeway, we can see forever past and future, we know where the traffic is headed and can see hazards as they happen ahead of time, since we would be looking down on time as it happens just like a cosmic version of that traffic helicopter.
i had a dream i was back in school
i had to carry something up a flight of stairs to a classroom, i really really didn't want to be there
as soon as no one was looking i took off like a rocket and left, i raced down the seemingly endless stairs, to the parking lot, to find a car to escape with.
but i didn't have any keys.
i was looking around for a car or vehicle that had it's doors unlocked and i couldn't find any, but then one appeared.
the black-haired Inbal Perlmuter was in the drivers seat, and then we left.
we were singing one of her songs, מעכבת i think, and having a good time.
that's all i remember.
and it wasn't even her pictures i was looking at last night....

I dreamt I was back at work at the hospital but it had changed into something more like a giant shopping mall, there were broad avenues with shops on either side all over the place. I followed some people to one corner with some sewing and clothing shops, and in the very back was a swimming pool in a dark corner, it was 1/4 Olympic size and 6 lanes, poorly lit, but there were people swimming laps in there, so I went back up to the clothing shops and spoke to one of the women there who ran the pool, and signed up with her. then I went back out to the mall and found two coworkers who for some unknown reason were hauling this heavy box while on the lookout for a supervisor who eventually arrived and browbeat them. then I awoke. there was much more to this dream but it just went POOF! upon awaking.
My mom stabbed our dog. I can?t remember why she did, but I was upset, and questioned why we didn't just take her to a shelter. My mom said, ?The shelter is too full. This is for her own good. When things get really bad, this will be for her own good.?
The dog was still acting fine. I knew she would die sometime, but "for now she's happy and alive, she just has a piece of fence sticking out of her." Everyone was acting normal. It was kind of haunting.

Last night or this morning I had a dream in which I was playing a game on my PS3 at the same time that my mom was plugged into the machine playing the same game on another TV. Plus, my younger brother was in the room playing a very strange game about saving Christmas. His character was solving a crime at a Christmas shop. It was a silly character, very tall and could run fast on asphalt. I asked him if he liked the game. He said no. But he kept playing. I asked my mom if she thought playing the game at the same time as me would interfere with the progress of our games and she didn't think so. Yet I noticed that her character's HP kept resetting to 600 every time I restarted my game. The first scene in the game where I was starting it was inside a castle courtyard. Men and women and children were enjoying a festive gathering, a feast outdoors, when suddenly there was a lot of noise and the characters turned toward the ruckus. The first one to recognize that they were being attacked by a warring faction was a woman with a bow and arrow. She ran to the doorway and shot at the enemy, but they struck her down in the process. Another armed woman also got killed first because she went toward them. I kept trying to save them, restarting the game, trying to turn the women back towards the families, but they were too quick. Over and over they completed the same actions and were destroyed. Finally, after some frustration, I saved them from their fate. I do not remember how. Then the game involved some characters who had lost their memories and were trying to escape an enemy camp. They had chosen new names for themselves, which were names of soap opera characters I know. One woman was trying to find her husband/boyfriend, (perhaps a relationship formed after the memory loss, or a connection still felt) He was wounded, supposedly dead behind a set of doors she was very close to. I kept willing her to look in his direction but somehow she kept looking anywhere but straight in front of her. Finally, he regained consciousness and banged on the door, which did get her attention, yet it still took longer than it should have. After they were reunited, they continued their escape. At one point there was a road in the game, up a hill into the wilderness. On one try, the road was filled with wolves, far too many to escape, the character kept getting killed. On the next try, there was a giant enemy with a weapon that could be collected if one defeated it. I thought that was better than the wolves but somehow I didn't manage to save the game after winning the weapon and got killed elsewhere, having to restart at the point before the wolves/giant. Another run gave the characters a vehicle and they just drove up the road, which was a lot easier than any other method. However, the characters got out not long after entering, perhaps to defeat monsters for experience points or something. One more part to this dream was a computer that was going haywire. The machine was threatening to self-destruct and destroy everyone. The creator of the machine went into the computer terminal room and there was a conversation between the machine and man. He said he wanted to save the computer and everyone else. The computer didn't believe him at first but eventually allowed him to reset something or unplug something. In the process of fixing the machine, the man lost his own brain to the computer, which was at that point part creature/squid. At the end of the scene he was considering suicide because he did not think he could be saved from squidbrain. (The creature was attached to the back of his head, actually comprising part of it.) I don't remember anything else after this.

Afterwards, the dream ended.

Sometimes I dream of owning a house that has two of everything in it or a house that opens up into a public place like a bank lobby of some sort or a place with elevators and escalators. Sometimes these houses I dream of have bathrooms that open up into older model bathrooms up until the toilet just becomes but a hole in the dirt - first ultra modern, then 70's, then 40's, on and on and then just a hole. Every door opens up into a past version of the current restroom.
I dream of being in elevators a lot and I just can't seem to get to where I want to go. It just keeps on taking me to where it wants to go no matter how many buttons I press.

the fumes [barely remembered dream fragments] of last night were me being chewed out [viewed from outside myself in my dream] by somebody [a large man dressed in old-fashioned tux with tails] with a large insect-like head [like that of a grasshopper], and I was sweating bullets and stressed out. then the insect head person, suddenly in a conciliatory mood, reached over, put his arms around me and hugged me and consoled me, telling me don't worry, everything will be alright, he will see to it.
That's a funny dream. Sound's like a science fiction book. A book I liked a lot (Perdido Street Station) had people with bug heads. The main character was in love with one. Interesting dynamics there!
