It was animal services and I got through to them finally.
They don't do that service anymore.
I have to go to the vet which is $600.
This place used to be $60.

They waived me having a $100 fine for not licensing the cat this year, though.
How magnanimous of them.

Big hugs from me as well.

Started new prescription sleep meds eight hours ago. Four hours later I was still awake and not even drowsy, so I also started the new “backup” sleep meds. They’re allowed to be taken together if needed. Was awake about an hour after that. Have been awake about an hour now, feeling like I was dropped from an airplane. I’m not only very tired but feeling nasty and shaky all over. Plus I had a nightmare like one of the meds advertises.

The only good thing is that the nightmare was laughable in comparison to my normal nightmares. If that’s what these drug makers consider scary I’ll take extras.

^ That's rough. Having insomnia after taking meds for sleep really sucks.

I don’t normally sleep even on my original meds, but at least they didn’t make me feel 50 years worth of fatigue in the morning. I used to just wake up in a daze.

With this stuff I think I just turned into an old lady overnight.

My pet has a huge tumour-like lump but I don't have the money to get him an operation.

:(

Are you sure it’s a tumour?

My dog used to get those but they always turned out to be fat blobs (forget the fancy name). Same with my cat actually, despite paying $1000 to find out.

Well it's been getting bigger in the last couple of weeks, nearly half the size of him (he's a rat).

Yeah I knew he’s a rat. That’s sad that it’s so big and growing. Is it on his belly? Hard or squishy? (OMG I can’t even touch lumps so I’m one to talk.)

It's on the side of his neck. It's quite hard but is covered in his skin and fur. But it's still very visible. He seems well though, but even so, it's still heartbreaking to see him like this.

I wish there was an NHS for pets. Unfortunately you can't take out insurance for rodents.

That’s where my dog had them, if it’s any consolation. They tried to talk me into very expensive and risky surgeries just to diagnose. I don’t have dog insurance unfortunately so it was a no-go. I chose to do nothing. That was a couple years ago and they’re gone now.

It’s scary though. I’m not diminishing how freaked you must feel.

:(
