I'm in the middle of the ocean. I see a huge wave rise behind me, like a tsunami. I panic, try to swim, but I'm getting nowhere. The wave crashes down on me. I'm spinning, flailing, things are hitting me - seaweed, fish? There's a loud roaring. It's getting darker as I sink further. I don't know which way is up. I know I'm going to drown. I'm in total panic.
Suddenly I hear myself think very clearly, I'm not going to fight anymore.
As soon as I have this thought, the roaring stops. I open my eyes (in the dream). I'm suspended in a clear liquid with silver flecks. Light is reflecting off their surface. I'm just floating, completely calm, watching these silver flecks float in front of my eyes. It only lasts a few seconds before I begin to rise to the surface.
I wake up with a feeling of peace.
This is one of the most clear dreams I've ever had. Not weird, kinda nice. I would give this dream a 9 out of 10 and I would definitely see it again.

wow, a lucid dream, way to go :thumleft:

I dreamt I was back in my old high school in the 70s, only in the dream it was a catholic school, and my old social studies teacher [also in real life a died-in-the-wool catholic and the girl's basketball coach/PE teacher] was leading/coaching a game of basketball, only in this game the goal wasn't to sink a ball in a hoop but to pick up the other team's ball and carry it to one's own goal. the coach was yelling at a player of the opposite team, in a most musical voice, to "DON'T PICK UP THAT BALL!! !" in a sing-song voice sounding the notes [in order] "C-E-G-E-C." then I awoke.

I composed music in my sleep!

I dreamt that I was at a concert. I woke up with the music running through my head and realised that I'd never heard it before. I recorded myself humming the main theme before school, but I can't remember anything else now. I'm trying to reconstruct the rest though.

its very rare that I dream and if I do its very random and brief and I forget it quickly but then again I only get odd hours or so of sleep at a time so maybe that's the reason

if you make it a point to perseverate on the dream as soon as you are aware of it, your recall will improve greatly.

Can't recall much of the details of the last dream I had, maybe a week ago. Something to do with "finding" my cat Trouble, who's been dead more than a few months now. Third person I guess? I've had a dream about that's no longer living, after my grandfather and kindergarten teacher. Wonder what it means.

that happened to me recently, it was a rather lighthearted song about happiness. i too hummed it on my way to school but quickly forgot it soon afterwards.

i am surprised i still recall so much about this dream, given it was dreamnt around 5 or so days ago.

it was a normalish day, the bell rang, and as usual, i went to get my blue mountain bike but it was locked up in a different plce than i usually put it IRL. i remember going up running, ascending twisting flights of steps to a lawn that IRL had no such steps.
i rode my bike the 3 blocks home, and around the corner, and i stopped at mu house. i looked at my map and saw i had biked a telaportative path from Toronto (yet at the location of Winnipeg) all the way to California. huh. on my map that had traced my path with a red line, i saw i had:

(i apologize in advance for any geographical fallacies)
>biked down to east-central minnesota
>took a 90 degree turn into the heart of south dakota
>made another 90 degree turn into central nebraska
>tirned again, this time 45 degrees southwest into colorado
>when i was in the San Juan forest i turned north around 8 or so degrees
>in the death valley park i made a....random path, back home.

at home, i continued on my bike around the corner where subway and dominos pizza usually is, but this time there was a giant street market going on so i had to get of my bike. i stayed on the southwest side of the street, the sidewalk began to be fenced in with a green gate, it was covered in posters, calling card ad thingies, street sellers, i was reminded of mexico. eventually the sidewalk ended and led into the produce section of a market. it had a large stand in the middle with the fruit, and i could not see anything else.

then i approached this persons house. it was shaped like a trapezoidal prism and it was very small, as if it was specialized for someone 3 feet tall. i called a locksmith to get in. it was rather messy and i think i recall a bike hanging from the ceiling. i don't remember anything else but there was a surfboard decal that said "don't worry be happy now"
then the owner of the house arrived. he was around 6 feet tall, grayish and stooping. he approached very slowly and did not seem to notice my presence. at this point i had unknowingly warped back outside of his trapezoidal house. everything but the tiny house and the tall owner vanished to gray and started rotating.

and then, i awoke.

all the dreams i have seem to be related somewhat to the idle musings i have during the day.
recently, i have experienced quite a number of flies on the inside of the windows from which i like to look out from, and they irritate my senses. i then start to feel sorry for them and when i consider that most people would just spray them dead, i shudder and i realize that they never asked to be born flies.
i therefore have captured about 40 flies over the past week in a clear plastic tumbler (instead of just killing them), and i have released them outside.

i have also concurrently mused about the attitudes that some people may have to my treatment of the flies. some people may think that i have spent far too much time in attendance to the needs of the flies to the detriment of my attendance to real human social stuff and they may consider me to be someone who futilely spends much mental energy in wasteful pursuits.

anyway, the whole scenario is rather ripe for amusement in my own psycho sensorium.

so, last night (which was at 5:30am yesterday morning), i went to sleep whilst idly thinking about the fly situation, and i slipped into a dream that was not in my conscious control.

i dreamed that a very rich and eccentric gentleman had a large jet plane (a dc-10 i think (or an l-1011)), and he was on a mission to fly into syria and land and rescue many lives.
the media was following him like a pack of hungry hounds in order to report the first thing he did after he landed. he darted off with a plastic tumbler in his hand and he had a strip of cardboard in the other hand. he bravely busted into a house that everyone else on the scene was too scared to ingress into, and he deftly slapped his tumbler over flies that were stranded on the insides of windows and he then ran outside with them firmly trapped in his tumbler and he released them inside his dc-10 jetliner, and then he ran back to get more flies to rescue. after his jet was filled up with 100's of thousands of flies, he took off for hamburg in germany and he released them all as soon as he landed (much to the chagrin of authorities there).

the dream was quite vivid and hilarious and was not conducive to good quality sleep i think. i always dream most just after falling asleep, unlike the norm of falling straight into NEM and then dreaming later on. who cares anyway? it is all just a dream in the end. whoever you are or however you think, it all comes to an end. so why be serious?

I struggle to remember things I did a minute ago let alone trying to remember something when I'm half asleep.

Last night I dreamed that I had a tablet that worked like a portable X-Ray that could show the inside of any part of my body. I would place it on my stomach and it would show my digestive system at work, and on my chest it would show my heart and lungs. It wasn't really graphic, mainly just fuzzy B&W images. Are portable DIY X-Rays something of the future perhaps, or would the radiation make it too dangerous?
