telstra is a criminal.

i upgraded to "foxtel iq platinum plus" which was what i thought i had to do to get hd tv. i am now paying $80 more per month for the "priveledge"

then i found i had no access to any HD channels unless i upgraded my channel subscription.

i was not informed of that by the operator who i spoke to when i agreed to upgrade.


me: i can not get HDTV on my foxtel. what do i have to do?
philipino operator: all you have to do sir is get the platinum iq upgrade which is full HD.
me:ok. i will do that then. how much does it cost?
operator: with the bundle you require, it will come to $245 per month.
me: ok i would like that.
operator: ok sir i am changing your plan right now, and you will get your HDTV box within 3 days.
me: excellent goodbye.


i got the box, and i tried every channel and none were HDTV.
i rang foxtel, and they said " oh but you are not subscribing to any HD channels sir"

me: so you sell me a high definition set top box, and you tell me that it will improve my viewing experience, and yet you do not inform me i have no subscription to any HD channels?!?!?!

them: sir you do not understand...

me: i understand! you hoped i thought i "saw" HD on my TV like a placebo effect after getting the box, and you were comfortable with charging me $50 more per month for no change at all in the quality of the picture i receive, and then you tell me i have to spend even more to access HD channels?

them: you are not currently subscribed to any HD channel ...

me: well subscribe me then!! how much more do i have to pay to get HD?

them: for another $20 per month we can give you access to the HD channels.

me: do it now!! !! i am paying for it and i want it!! !.

then he told me that i my "bundle" was updated so i can get HD channels, and i looked at them, and no shows on those channels are more than 720p!! !! !! !! !

when i rang again, after 30 minutes of listening to their self congratulatory ads on the phone, i was allowed to voice my complaint, and i was told that almost no shows are in 1080i let alone 1080p!! !! !!
almost all shows in the HD channels are either 576 or 720.

the world is full of cons.
