I have to go to school sick and tired. It's too cold here. I want to die.

Annoying relative kept going ON and ON about something they think I should have done several years ago.
They wouldn’t stop, so the inevitable meltdown occurred.Hit my head with my hands over and over, broke my glasses and I kept yelling shut up shut up shut up.
Now I feel thick , tired, stupid and sick. This hasn’t happened in awhile.

Excessive contemplation of the human condition.

You turned out just perfect Misslizard, so you must have made all the right choices.
Throw a few breakables at them from Auntie Iz.

Just came home from the Optometrist with my eyes dilated.
MR driving ahead of me as the lead car.
I hit a red light so he carried on a minute ahead of me.

When I turned onto my street his car was diagonal on the street, doors open.
Two people were standing there holding my 20 year old cat.
He was taking him from them.
Their car was ahead of his, doors also open.

I thought the people hit my cat.

Turned out he saw the people slow down and get out to pet my cat.
Then they picked him up to cuddle him.
Because ... why?

People always stop their cars or try to kidnap my cat.
It's the weirdest freaking thing.
Happens all the time, sometimes right in front of me.

MR said "Excuse me, that's my cat" and took him from them.

Idiots.

New Optometrist: (Other one retired)

- Didn't introduce himself.
I didn't even notice until MR pointed it out.

- Told me I likely need eye surgery from a paediatric Ophthalmologist.
Why paediatric? The condition affects kids.
Then didn't give me a referral because I'm not a kid.

- I asked what to do about Visual Snow.
"Nothing".

- I asked about Irlen.
"That's not real".

- I kept saying the clearer test letters hurt my eyes.
"Yes, they're clearer but it hurts".
He didn't know what I meant.
I said it would be like me asking him to carry 50 lbs for me.
He could do it, but it would hurt.
He still didn't get it.

- I asked for better eye drops.
He said to use "whatever" brand for dry eyes.

- He said I needed a stronger prescription for distance.
Then he decided to keep it the the same, and changed all my numbers.
I have no idea why.

- I asked for a Field of Vision test because peripheral light makes me sick.
He said no.

I'm so not impressed.

I've been caregiver and appointment-driver for my mum and brother with cancer.
Now I've volunteered to do it for my brother's best friend too.

His wife doesn't speak English and my brother doesn't understand medical jargon.
He had no one else to help him.

I don't know what I'm getting into with this because it will be devastating.
We all love him sooo much, and we're all heartbroken by his diagnosis.

*I've known him since I was a child so he's like a brother to me.

#f**k cancer

I have had similar experiences with clueless 'eye specialists' when visiting the opticians, Issy.
