Mais oui, Kortie. I know about King Richard and his Lion Heart. I enjoy French, too, although it is not my mother or father tongue.

:king:

1. I learned French from my cousins in Montréal

1. I learned most of my French from a novel called Villette, by Charlotte Brontë

2. I learned French because I wanted to learn French.

#3 for Isabella.

You find French can be romantic...but you’re much more partial to English.

Actually, 1 is my lie. I have cousins in Montreal but they're anglophone and I didn't see them often enough to learn what they'd learned. There were a few opportunities to practise French in the city but I have never been much of a speaker, just a reader and writer (it's more visual; I'm not an auditory learner).

2 and 3 are true. Villette has many passages or entire paragraphs in French. The translation notes piqued my curiosity and then I just wanted to learn. I took a few French Lit classes in high school / Uni as well.

English took lots from French after the
Norman Conquest.

It also lead to Modern English being less Germanic than Middle and Old English.

I didn't know that. Is she there now, or moved away? It's such a vibrant city. Perhaps I'll enrol for more schooling?

I don't think there are any outstanding.

1. My first lesbian lover was an identical twin and they used to trick me by swapping (terrifying)

2. I have spent most of the day reading and youtubing Narcissistic Personality Disorder and BPD

3. I think I am done with the above subject and know all I need to know.

3. I know someone who studies NPD and writes copious amounts of blog material about it. She could talk about it for hours (and hours and hours), so I assume 3 is impossible.

Indeed 3. I have only just scratched the surface. I believe I may have an N in my life and getting my head around it and how to deal with it. Do you have a link to the blog? (Only if that doesn't compromise your anonymity).

1. I am thinking of planning a visit to my son - will take my time

2. I have only the meagrest knowledge of french, yet it did help when visiting Tahiti

3. I can speak Maori fluently

#2 for Alirat.

1. I fell in love with a lesbian once.

2. She was twice my age.

3. We consummated our Romance.

2 is your lie
My mother went to Tahiti and Bora Bora last year, btw and loved it

I actually haven't read her blog myself, because she overwhelms me with info about NPD whenever I broach the topic (ha). (Kortie: If you see this, recall my Good Will Hunting night?)

I will read her blog myself and see where to go from there in terms of giving you a link, but I'm sure I could assist you with whatever you need. It's stressful for me to read about such vexatious people. I do know of something called Grey Rock which you may want to investigate, if you aren't already familiar. NPD people cannot be cured, much like psychopathy, and it's a dreadful ordeal to detach. I have dealt with a confirmed psychopath and the damage is quite nearly beyond repair.

Nope not 2 for me :) 3 for Kortie?

I haven't heard of Grey Rock. Yes I love the Pacific Islands and I have one favourite that I visit as often as I can. Its an expense but I don't drink or drug or play with racy men so I guess I can save all my years pleasure money for one trip :D

I'm sorry, I couldn't log in for an hour with tech. issues :(
I think your lie must be 3, then. My other WP friends from NZ aren't fully fluent in Maori.

I'm saving for a dream trip, too. May not return from it. I'm not sure when it will be, but in the next year or two.

I've read this story from you before, Korts. I just can't recall if it had a "happy ending", so to speak.

I don't think it did. So, 3.
