Heh - the patterns, right?

Yes, they're strange!
Does it really help you sleep? If so I will focus on doing that and not waiting for sleep to grip me.

Patterns can be annoying on the inside.

Yes, especially if I manage to get a good "depth" thing going and a good sense of floating forwards through them.
There are the "flood" types, that wash from one side to the other like a reddish wave, pulses which always seem to come from above, random faint sparkly things, "blobs" - loads of things.
It's a bit like being aware of dreaming - there's a knack in not pushing too hard, and finding the right frame of mind to sit and watch yet being in control.

Yes, I have different things which I can't really describe, and a sense of whatever the shape is growing/shrinking rapidly, or perhaps going closer or further away from it, who knows!

It seems to work for me because it stops me thinking about stuff. Just focusing on the visual and observing without pushing I suppose is a form of meditation?

@blitzkrieg: Yeah, the flashy ones I used to get during the day were a bit of a worry for a while, but I now know they're related to certain types of patterns I see on "noisy" objects.

Well not long until I put it to the test and mercifully, I am feeling slightly tired right now!

No, stupid stuff like large areas of pebbles or fine brickwork. It would pulse or flash horribly if I looked at it for too long.
The only problems I've had with screens were old CRT things set at ridiculously low refresh rates - and doubly so if they were interlaced too.

In the hopes of getting a full night's sleep, I'm off too. Wonder what's on the eyelid cinema tonight?

Goodnight, WP!
