CockneyRebel, I'll always found you to an honorable and sincere person overall.. I can recall when there was a time when I used to post a great with others nowadays it seems to be only in the humor-related forums and so forth. I suppose these days I try to put a great deal of time in writings of my blog even if it's not fancy at least, I don't get seen as being un-intelligible if I screw up and my wordings and so forth.. Not much else to say..

Dear ProfessorX, reading your signature; was your grandfather really a voodoo priest?
Really?

Did you ever attend his services or meetings?

Were your parents believers?

The Unpopular WP Members Club thread told me that because it has been made to feel unpopular on WP lately, it is considering joining itself.

So tragic that it has come to this.

It also may or may not have mentioned that Pyrite is among the cleverest and most handsome people in it. :P

Dear Sylkat, Truthfully I'm not into Voodoor nor was my parents rather, I simply was amused with the quotation regarding Voodoo that I posted it in my signature. Therefore, please forgive me if you had deemed what was stated in my signature as being realistic however, I wholeheartedly do have an African ancestor but, as far as religious nature and so forth, I have absolute no information on such matters. So, I hope this clears matters up as I would not want any mis-understanding on my part ...

Dear ProfessorX, how far back was your African ancestor? Recently enough that you were able to meet him, or someone that your family reminisced about?

Greetings,UPWPMC!! !

This is my first post here so I'm kinda a noob, and don't blame me if I do noobish things...

Pyrite -- I like the whole fire/pi pun with your nickname (if I'm interpreting that right). But why is the pi in your avatar sideways? For kicks; or is there some deeper reason?

I don't got much else to say... except for this cool number sequence. There's a pattern, and you've gotta try and figure it out:

Quote:
1, 4, 8, 13, 21, 30, 36, 45...

And no, it has nothing to do with the Fibonacci sequence.

The next numbers are 54, 63, 73 and 85.

EDIT: not ruining the fun :P

Pyrite is a mineral, the homonym "Pi right" was the lamest pun I could thing of.
When I have the post count for a custom rank I may try an avatar for which the puns are even lamer. :P

Pyrite: Yeah that makes sense. I think I thought it had something to do with fire from the Pyr part, like a funeral pyre or pyrotechnics. The name for pyrite does come from the same root, cause it's all shiny and foolsgold-y, I think.

Shatbat: Congratulations for figuring it out! And thanks for not ruining the fun.
Anyway here's another one, and I promise it's trickier:

Quote:
1, 3, 8, 15, 22, 32, 42, 51, 58...

And for those of you who haven't gotten the other one from my previous post, I suggest you figure that one out first.

Sylkat, as far back as my african ancestory goes? More or less a very distant grandmother on my dad's side of my family yet, the exact details my sister know for, she is the one whom came across this profound discovery.
In terms of whether I have actually met the the descendant of such person that would be no, Yet, I'm aware of wherre he lives though just not exact location though.. I'm constantly trying to find more information about my ancestry as, there is some Native American roots in my family though, I don't have the definitive details at this exact time..

Dear Professor X, Your ancestry and your research into your family's history is so admirable!
More people need to do genealogical research, and listen to the older family members while they are still alive; they are living history!

That one is definitely harder, I even used pen and paper and couldn't figure out the pattern =(.
Can I have just this one clue? Does it follow a similar mechanic as the previous one, but maybe with more steps involved? Or should I look at it from other angle?

And I've been wondering for some time... strong logical thought is definitely a big factor of mathematical ability, but it must not be the only one then.

*snatches maths from Kjas and hides them*

*onerous and deep voice* There shall be no more needless spilling of blood today
