1. This business about viewing autism as just a difference and not a disorder (HFA anyway) will grow legs.
2. The Solitary Forager Hypothesis of autism will see more adherents.
3. Even if they do connect school shooters to disturbed autistic kids at least they'll acknowledge that these kids can be a ticking timebomb if not addressed properly.

Would you fake an illness to get out of doing work you don't like?

I would not, because I completely lack the ability to lie (I'm serious, I can't do it!) and even if I could, I wouldn't use the "skill" to fake an illness...
