i just had my only irl aspie friend over, hes like me, never diagnosed, never "learned to live with it"
he has always seen himself as a dog person but
unlike most dog-persons he could immediately appreciate a cat, what they are, their body language and their nature

i can also fully appreciate dogs, even if i prefer a cat for myself. maybe we're just better at recognizing each species as its own. nt-"dog people" will think of "animals" and therefore see cats as "sub beings" because theyre incorrect. in their mind its easyer that way. dogs are right, cats are bad. nt-"cat people" will think of cats as correct, and dogs as failures of nature.

aspies may more of see them both as correct in their own way.

A cat will never betray you because he will never make a covenant but a dog can be seduced.

a cat WILL rather die than to eat poop. dogs gorge it down.

nuff said,.

there is a protein that a cat doesn't digest and the dog smells it in the poop, then instinct takes over.

Cats are easier to take care of. No need to bath them or walk them, take them outside to go. You don't need to toilet train them because they automatically go in their litter box. After all they all have AS. Dogs have ADHD.

But my cat is dead and I can't have a cat.

No need to bath them... except when they get sick and get gross things all over themselves.... and then if the cat doesn't like to be bathed (as most cats don't), it's a horrible nightmare.
I'm speaking from experience, too. My first cat, one day, got sick. She had sick all over herself, coming from both ends. So I had to bath her.... oh, god... nothing like bathing a cat, who is ripping your arms and face open, meanwhile all the sick floating around and getting into your nice new cuts... :eew:
