No need to bath them... except when they get sick and get gross things all over themselves.... and then if the cat doesn't like to be bathed (as most cats don't), it's a horrible nightmare.
I'm speaking from experience, too. My first cat, one day, got sick. She had sick all over herself, coming from both ends. So I had to bath her.... oh, god... nothing like bathing a cat, who is ripping your arms and face open, meanwhile all the sick floating around and getting into your nice new cuts...
