Being alone, watching my cat, and rocking/swinging.

Now that it is getting into the colder weather here in Ohio, I have a simple pleasure that brings me a lot of joy. I like to take a couple hours in the afternoon on Saturdays and/or Sundays and go upstairs and cover-up under the sheet and blanket of my bed and work on my novel. This is my alone time. This part of the house is extremely quiet as the rest of the family is downstairs in a side wing of the house. If it is sunny outside, I will cover the window of the bedroom with a towel.

When it is snowy outside and our (my sons and I) school is cancelled (I am a gifted intervention specialist), I like to work on my train models. I am hoping to make a lot of progress on that project this winter. What is neat for me is that the train layout is an HO scale version of a setting for my novel---the lakeside tourist resort.

I have always thought that it would be neat to use green screen effects with the models once they are finished. Then I could green screen myself or others into the HO model set. Potentially, in this virtual town, I could walk the streets of my imagination. Well...this simple pleasure has grown into a rather complex one  .

simple pleasures--sometimes taking long, leisurely walks through my old neihgborhood often listening to music while my mind sifts through many place,times,people,etc..
Also, sometimes watching the clouds move across the sky and wonder in amazement of such..

Feeling my pillow
Sitting in the sunshine
Watching fire works, christmas lights, fiber optic lights, fire or anything else that shines sparkles or changes colors
Swings or rocking chairs

Having a lie-in on a Saturday morning. Getting up, and having tea and toast while watching the world from my window. :)
Then it's all downhill from there. (Ho ho.)

That's a big one for me too and although I like cartoons as much as the next adultchild it is imperative that I have my first coffee either in silence or the morning news. My son and I have to negotiate sometimes. He thinks I'm weird but it seriously sets my day off wrong to start with high pitched mania and exhortations to buy buy buy.

When I'm exhausted my best pleasure is to just lie on a bed (not covered in blankets) and relax. It works best when I'm alone because I can't really relax around other people. :P

One of the simple pleasures I once had partaken in was to walh through this botanical gardens many years ago with or without anyone to accompany me for, merely being there often made me feel quite at ease not only with my life but the world overall.Though, I'm no a botanist nor a plant-person in any sort of way but, find nature to be quite peaceful indeed...
