I've noticed that Americans tend to say they're American, and then add their "roots."

Europeans don't tend to do that so much. Interesting...

Well, my parents were Irish, but I suppose I could go back a few generations and mix things up a bit if anyone was interested. What's wrong with just being American?

Caucasian American, with distant ancestry in Scotland and Sweden.

However, as I've said on another thread, I don't associate myself with America. Our government is just wrong, and I refuse to call myself an American until it becomes right.
