San Marcos was a little more humid, but we had an unusually hot summer, and a drought to boot.

I was there for training at Sheppard AFB in the early 90s, but it was cold at the time because it was winter. I have lived in the DC area, stationed at Bolling AFB, and in CA at Vandenberg AFB. I certainly like the heat of California the best because it was dry. I would go back if I could afford it and take my family and pets with me.

I don't meet too many people who went to Sheppard AFB for training. Moving is expensive and so is California. I have relatives who live there I would like to visit. What else did you like about living there?

I think while I was there people didn't think of me or treat me as "different". It was a really laid back place. It wasn't too cold or too humid. I am an artist, and people in California love their artists. I like the beach, and there were so many great places to eat and shop. You just don't have to search very hard to find anything.

I was at the Finance school at Sheppard. That school is now at Keesler AFB, in Mississippi.

Arizona is laid back and accepting like California is. I was at Sheppard AFB in the early 80s. I received medical training, "Medical Service Specialist" there, then I was trained to be "EMT" then "Paramedic".

It's really hot and humid where I am right now. Haven't quite got the urge to break out the AC units yet. I've been weathering it well so far. It's supposed to cool down a bit after Thursday anyway.

It was 93 F in Virginia Beach today. We're suppose to have thunderstorms tomorrow. Yellow pollen is every where. We'll all be happy to have a good rain to wash it away and a little cooler weather before sunner gets here. The Wisteria growing wild is so beautiful and the Azealas are beginning to bloom too. :sunny:

I wish it looks like an interesting character and I see it wink at me sometimes

It sounds just like here in NC- not too far away anyway. We have been using the air though because my allergies are rather nasty. I was enjoying my coffee on the back porch yesterday and I looked down- it was coated in pollen. I have had a rough few days with this stuff. My cat, Dixie, who is a black and white "holstein" girl, had green fur today!

Isn't it awful. Some people were wearing hospital mask so they could breathe better.

I want numbers. Tell me the temperature and I will compare it to the summer temperature here. We shall see how hot it really is...

I know it's a cliche but wet or dry? I'm really curious. I know Australia is hot. My mother was in Perth once and she told me something like 110 in the shade.

Our summers are always dry (this is in South Australia), I hear it's much more humid north in Queensland. It gets to 115F, on the worst days you see it get to around 120. This isn't even in central Australia where the desert is...

I would take 110 F to 115 F dry heat over high humidity 90 F + weather any day. Dry heat is by far more tolerable. I'm a Southwestern Desert Rat who lives right next to The Great Dismal Swamp, I know.

I'm a South Eastern Rat I wouldn't really call it a swamp but around my neighborhood we have some marshy areas

If it's too hot for you in the USA, you really should consider moving to Scotland.
Nice and cool, except when it's really bone chilling cold.
