There is also this name Kaja which is in the "between rare and very rare" category - I ever knew only one; in kindergarten. People know of this name mostly because of a famous actress, Kaja Paschalska.

when i was in the army, i knew somebody named kistenmacher, who claimed he was the only such kistenmacher in the whole army. i also knew somebody whose middle name was "seaphus" which he absolutely hated. my own middle name of "ivon" [NOT "ivAn"]i am sure is pretty rare.

I once ran across a girl named Marina. Then again, thanks to Marina Diamandis - that might not be as rare as I thought.

I've heard of stuff out in Oregon, girls named Willow, Echo, and Moonbeam.

18th and 19th century devonshire england.... Marina was a semi-common name.

Well, not as I recall, but I used to have a giggle about the fact that her name was a day of the week, proceeding to ask her if she had relatives named Thursday and Friday, etc.
